A Boarded Up Chemist
Standing out the front where everyone usually stood when the club was finished we waited upon some ladies to come out but we had no such luck. Leaning against our pole Ralf just blabbed on with his usual self by hacking on other so called friends.
Getting tired of his jabbering I suggested we make a walk past the shopping complex street that is blocked off to traffic. That we managed to do and as we walked up I noticed that a Chemist had the front garage like door bashed in. Seeing that I could steal some teddy bears that were in reach I noted that to Ralf without any intent and it was a good thing because security walked past us seconds later.
Two Girls at Subway
Making our way to the other side of the shopping complex and back onto a main street we walked across the intersection (Where the Wollongong shooting took place I think) and made our way to the small ‘Subway’ shop there. Having two dollars to my name and following two fairly beautiful girls in I waited patiently for my turn as I glanced once or twice at the two beauties.
One was half a head taller than me with her high heels on and being a skinny blonde with light brown through it she looked like the silent snob type. On the other hand, her friend looked somewhat friendlier with her dark hair but she wasn’t appealing to me. Out came another worker to serve me and this lady a year younger than me who had no makeup on, had natural blonde but tanned hair and had an unclear face had come out for a lustful reason.
Serving me we noticed that plenty of cop cars were heading to the intersection that we had crossed. Actually, heaps of police cars were there when we crossed but it started to build up soon after.
“Do you know what happened out there,” the anxious girl asked who blatantly showed she had an interest for me in her divulging tone. Gathering that it was probably my choice of clothes for the night and the hair out that brought her out of hibernation I answered her and then looked at the girls next to me one more time. As they paid for their food I walked right next to them to pay for mine and they looked interested but like me, withheld their real interest.
Police Tape in the Street
Taking my food out to the front of ‘Subway’ in Wollongong we watched the police scene unfold some more as the cops starting putting some police tape around a certain perimeter. Walking closer to the scene we didn’t ask what was going on but rather, a drunk skinny aboriginal in his late 20’s tried hard to inform us but not as hard as I tried standing up.
From what this drunkard told me, the guy who had a jacket over his head and handcuffs on his hands while being interviewed by Channel 7 was the guy that killed someone in Wollongong with a shotgun and wounded 7 others. Standing there long enough to smell his beer infested breath Ralf and I made our way back down the shopping complex street, passed the foaming fountain and back to the club. Noticing now that the club had free admission we walked to the entrance.
Too Dressed Up for the Floor
Uncomfortable as I was being too over dressed for most people there and feeling all eyes on my back I didn’t feel in the mood to be dancing on the compact floor. The room on the dance floor was no bigger than the span of my room and because there wasn’t much space it made me all the more self-conscious.
Ralf was into his little dance and as he had plenty of space in his corner and his back to a glass wall I wasn’t the least in the mood for dancing. This whole pub/club scenario was disappointing once in there and not getting into a dancing groove at all I kept telling Ralf that we should sit down and after a minute we did. Lesser was my restlessness but being on a round table further to the back of the room and where there was the most light, I once again felt uneasy.
For the next fifteen minutes Ralf and I kept a small conversation going through the pounding music. Glancing around the room on occasions I tried not to stare at anyone as I was uncomfortable being there but I did chance one or two attractive girls sitting with their friends. Before I could build at all on my confidence the last song was played and it was our time to head out of there, unscathed.
A Banquet at KFC
From where we had finished our night in the club we made our slow march to the car. Empowered in my new clothing the way it clung to my body and held me made me feel relaxed walking in them with a sense of complacency. The time had arrived to 2:00 a.m. when the club had closed and back in Ralf’s car we drove back home.
The trip home again was filled with Ralf’s damning of all the people he calls friends and in some instances I did get a chance to hear a song or two but never in full. Back in Campbelltown just before 3:00 a.m. Ralf thought to head to KFC to get some food as he was hungry. To Ralf, hungry meant buying four burgers, hot chips, a plastic bowl of mashed potato mixed with gravy and a couple of pieces of chicken. This is what Ralf calls a meal and I found it funny how he spent around twenty minutes lapping it up while we drove to the front of Chevy’s to watch all come out.
Bumping Into Arnold
Once out the front of Chevy’s (Being just up the street at the front of Commonwealth Bank) we observed all the skirts, pants, boobs and beautiful blondes walk out. While Ralf was eating on the steps of Commonwealth Bank Arnold walked past so I thought to stop him for a little hello. Seeing me he shook my hand and I noticed that since high school he has either gotten skinnier and tame or I’ve gotten larger and lawless.
Arnold was not the proud holder of a well built body anymore and he looked as if he stopped growing and started shrinking since high school. Arnold used to be a head and a half taller than me but now he’s almost my height so it begs to ask who was the one doing the growing lately. Looking rugged like any other Australian I know he talked to both me and Ralf for a minute and then he was back off on his way up the road to chase down some pussy as he put it.
The Girl in the Red Top
Ralf and I went on a walk to the front of Chevy’s and in this walk we strolled past a girl sitting on the bus stop seat at the crossing on our side. Wearing a red top and having brown hair she stared at me as I walked past with her very distinguished eyes and that is the most I noticed of her, the eyes.
Not sure if she was staring because she found me attractive or if I had a note on my back saying ‘Kick Me’ I strolled past undecided. On the other side of the road and on the other bench was that ugly blonde girl that has a baby and danced with Ace the last time we were at Chevy’s. With her nose and squared off face she reminds me more of a pig with makeup but let’s not be harsh because she does have a decent body for having a kid and if you can get a near perfect angle from her (Which is hard to find) you would almost mistake her as being gorgeous.
Alas, her face is a flaw and I was repulsed when she sat up on her bench in anticipation of me walking by, she had the digs for me and I think she always has. I’ve been noticing her since the days of going out with Lyssa when we used to come back home on the bus.
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned her bothering face before as the blonde pig with the pram but I would like not to glorify her with words anymore. Ralf talked to one of the bouncers and coming back we walked past the blonde who stared once again and then past a more admired face, the girl with the red top. Once again did she stare at me and this time she made it all the more obvious but being around my age I wasn’t sure what her game was. All that raced through my mind was that she was trying to say “Come and sit next to me now!” but I wasn’t game enough.
Staring Back From the Roundabout
Jumping into Ralf’s car we started up the music and getting to the roundabout the girl in the red top who had a great body and heavenly eyes turned to face backwards on her seat so that she could once again stare at us leaving. There was something eerie but lovable about her that drew me to gaze as much in her eyes as she did in mine each time she stared at me.
This drive past her and staring at her was the last that I got to notice of her as we drove out into the evensong. If I had the balls I would have sat next to her when she was all by her lonesome staring at me but that is a part of me I still have to build upon. Confidence comes from within and to build upon confidence you must first feel confident. Getting back home around 3:30 a.m. I didn’t get to sleep until a little later but I could have slept near 4:00 a.m.
End of the Month
Now with the explanation of Friday night and its conclusion I must end this long portrayal of chronology. Be sure to find Saturday’s enigma at the start of next month. Parting words from this month should be sparse as I have none more to say but let live and live on in this mind of mine.

Diary Of A Mad Chaos is a daily diary written from March 1996 until today, of which individual books and book series have been created, namely “The Lost Years” an exploration of young, entwined love, the “Wubao In China (猎艳奇缘)” book series which provides an extensive comparative analysis of the cultural differences between Eastern and Western societies, and the book titled “Foreigner (华人)” an exploration of race relations in Australia.
