Poetry Is Basically Air Says Me (Part 3) – Mad Chaos: December 3, 1998

Is Poetry Like Air

Now as I was arguing before about poetry and art being formed by irrational inspiration, let me get back to that philosophy that I still think not to be true. Let me ask you, is air a material. Let me now ask you is poetry a material. If you agreed to one and disagreed to the other that is irrational thinking. Poetry comes with inspiration from within the mind. Air is all around us, we can touch it, we can sense it upon us, but we cannot feel it or see it.

We can sense air when wind pushes it upon us but that is irrational to think that what we fell is air and not just pressure from wind. Air is a material that can only be administered by other forces such as wind, to propel this unseen material through itself. As alike, poetry is in a framed mind and though it is rational to think that poetry has no substance I would tend to philosophize. Poetry like air is a material and as air is created by trees our poetry is created by our minds.

Poetry has no visual substance but like air it can be administered by other forces. With these forces poetry can be sensed, it can be touched, it can be told, it can be imagined and it can also inspire. The forces that formulate poetry to visible material are literature and that in turn converts this solid form of poetry back into material poetry where it can once again be captured by the mind and stored. Therefor, poetry to my philosophical thinking is not irrational inspiration but a material created by the mind using the tools of rational inspiration, will and desire to satisfy.

Five Haiku and a Philosophy Plan

Here tonight I have created my own beliefs and my own philosophy and terms but if Socrates were alive today he would probably churn away at my confident beliefs with his contrasting questions. Before I head onto some of the rest of my day and my great workout at the Gym today let me introduce the five Haiku poems I had created early this morning. Just before I do, how great would it be if I could philosophize with the great minds about my search for a scientific formula for exertion. That day will one day come to me, I have much faith in myself…

Derogatory,

That shall be my opinion,

On philosophy

Admit to me that

There is a temptress within,

Reveal her to me

How lucid you shine,

So content with your belief,

So quick to judge me

I can read your eyes,

So transparent yet silent,

Your eyes lie to me

Thought is deluding,

To know what is in your mind,

None shall confuse more

Plans for a Poetry Class

Now I still have a Sonnet to create that only has but four lines but trust me, by the end of tonight I shall have it complete. If I haven’t noted before I hope to take up a poetry class next year and begin with further knowledge a dramatic poetry script. The people will be set within the Medieval Times where I am most interested in.

If I attend TAFE in Campbelltown then I could probably still get government assistance. Before I begin my day let me just note that my legs are still pretty bare but stubs are starting to come out. The time it has taken my hair on my legs to grow back has surprised me, I thought it would be a lot quicker than this.

Fish and Chips First

Alright, from what I can remember I’m up to the part where I wake up at 3:30 p.m. and after having something to eat I had a shower and then headed to Bradbury shops. While there I posted the letter I am sending for Jury Enrollment and while I was there I ordered some fish and chips. Coming back home I finished up my meal, jotted down my ideas onto my computer and then grabbing myself a towel I headed to the Gym.

Chest Day With Strangers

Chest: Staring as usual on the bike for two minutes I made my way to the Peck Deck Fly Machine and performed 25 reps with 50 pounds as I needed to warm up extensively. Once that was done I moved to Bench Press where I started with 80 pounds and 12 reps. Placing the weight up to 160 pounds I once again looked for a spotter. What amazes me is that every time I get someone to spot me I’ve never used him before, the gym is full of faces.

Once again I had him not touch the bar and I completed 5 reps by myself before completing 8 reps. Placing the weight down to 140 pounds I performed 8 more reps. Moving to Decline Dumbbell Press with 40 pounds to start I pushed out 10 reps but then jumped onto Incline Dumbbell Press. With 55 pounders I pushed out 8 reps and conked out. Trying with the same weight I managed 6 reps pushing hard before I gave up. While jumping onto Dips this fairly built lady around 23 with a magnificent tan asked me to spot her on upright rows.

The thing is she didn’t need the spot but it was great watching her muscles move around. Anyway, Dips, I performed about 6 reps then conked out. Moving onto Peck Deck Fly’s I performed 8 grueling reps just finishing with 130 pounds. Placing the weight down to 120 pounds I performed 8 more reps. Lastly one set of Cable Crossovers to warm down with 30 pounds either side for 10 reps was all I needed.

Arms and Abs to Finish

Biceps: Deciding to change my routine a bit I began on E.Z. Preacher Cable Curls and with 30 pounds performed 12 reps. Placing the weight up to 60 pounds I performed 3 reps then placed the weight down to 50 pounds to perform 5 reps. Once again I put down the weight and now down to 40 pounds I performed 10 gut wrenching reps. Moving to Alternate Dumbbell Curls with 30 pounders I performed 10 reps, took me a while.

Abdominals: Lastly I performed a warming up set on Cable Crunches with 30 pounds and 10 reps. Moving to Machine Ab Crunches with 30 pounds I performed 20 reps then after a rest performed 30 reps. Lastly I raised the weight to 60 pounds and performed 20 reps to finish off my daily workout which lasted just around 50 minutes of my time in the Gym.

Walking out of the Gym I said goodbye to Maddox and two girls behind the counter who look around 17 years old and fairly reasonable but delectable. Now I have some more pre-written philosophy that I would like to share with the rest of you…

Matter Time and Material

Every matter of existence is a material substantiated by clusters of matter. Because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. All existence is material where matter that we can hold as well as see with our eyes is ‘solidified material’. Where matter is that of which our eyes cannot see but exists, that is ‘elemental material’. Where matter is that of which our eyes cannot see but ‘solidified material’ can create, that is ‘superficial material’.

To exemplify these differences in material shall I now give examples. ‘Solidified material’ is matter that is visible, three dimensional and with solid substance such as that of wood, dirt, water, trees, mortal beings, animals and all else that can be seen or touched. ‘Elemental material’ that is an obscure substance to the eye is the fabrication of thought, mental energy and intellectual imagery.

This material’s density cannot be substantiated but this universal material is a form of matter and one which requires vastness and can create a limitless void where the material does stretch. ‘Superficial material’ is not as dense as ‘solidified material’ but has similar characteristics. Forms of ‘superficial material’ are matters such as air, gases, darkness, space and other matters which can not be gripped and do not form solidly in our vision.

All three types of material make different organisms of existence but only that of ‘elemental material’ can create life. ‘Elemental material’ can also influence matter not yet formed into material to invent needed material. Such an influence of ‘elemental material’ can be demonstrated by my typing onto this computer. The material of time which is ‘superficial material’ combined with the influence of ‘elemental material’ and an influx of energy creates the letters on the screen that I type. All materials work in conjunction with each other and form many combinations of material. This harmonious structure creates the laws for matter and imprints the letters on the screen and on the page that you now read.

Formation of matter into material is a result of infinite changes in the structure of time which in itself is a material formed of matter. Time and it’s continuum is comprised of ‘superficial material’ and thus time overlaps upon itself and upon these overlay’s of time is the parameter of influx created. Where this influx of time and it’s matter is created, so to are created alternatives worlds to what we know to be real, alternative times in which we live and alternative creations to what we comprehend. Life as we know it is not miraculous but a spawning of matter that overlays different matter upon matter creating life, surreal, animated and inanimate.
