Parramatta Shopping and a Call from Lyssa (Part 2) – Mad Chaos: October 3, 1998

Jett came over as we expected and chucking on ‘John Madden Football we began our onslaught. For the first quick game I beat Jett’s ass by a try or two and while our game was going Tatton called up Jett to see if he wanted to come to the City. Tatton was saying “Come on man, Min-Su really wants you to go” pretty sad. In the end of it all Min-Su didn’t end up going because Jett didn’t end up going so to Min-Su’s saddened frame, it was all a waste of time. Whatever games Min-Su is playing I would have straightened her out face to face by now but for some reason the both of them can’t do that.

All in all, Jett talked on the phone with Tamsen for more than an hour and then with Min-Su for about ten minutes while we were playing our second game, which Jett won by a landslide 133 points to 41. The only reason Jett won so easily is because he was once again ‘All Madden’ while I was a normal team and as soon as he got one try ahead of me I started to slack off. The conversation that Jett had with Tamsen was pissing me off because Jett basically told me he hates Tamsen and then he’s talking with her for over an hour about Min-Su and how she is childish. Lying there on my ground I was telling Jett to hang up “In a minute, min a minute” he would gesture and that minute would turn into more.

Finally Jett hung up the phone and when he did he drove down to Bradbury shops to pick up a video and some Chinese food. While he was gone I viewed some television and coming back he had with him ‘Mouse Hunt’ and the Chinese food. Bringing down some forks we started devouring into the two piles of fried rice he bought with assortments of filling. Gobbling that up we noticed the time was 10:30 p.m. and decided to quickly watch the movie. You see right now I should be sleeping but after the movie finished and Jett left at 12:15 a.m. I had to write in here. When the movie was over we quickly planned tomorrow and how I am calling Jett’s mobile phone at 8:30 a.m. Tomorrow we are visiting Miranda Westfield Shopping Center first and then heading straight to the beach. Shawn might be coming with us tomorrow but I doubt it if he’s getting pissed with Tatton in the City tonight. From what I figure, it’s just Tatton and Shawn in the City right now as Keith is out with Ace and Ralf at the Catholic Club.

That in small detail is my whole day and night. Like there usually is meant to be, detail is scarce today but blame that on my tired eyes and eagerness to get to sleep. As soon as this is done I’m lightly brushing my teeth and then preparing for the beach tomorrow, babes, boobs, beauty, what more could you want…

Saturday 8:34 p.m.

The struggle between Labor and Liberal continues and so far, it is too close to call the next victor of Parliament. As those fists keep flying, slugging out the next champion I had a losing day, spiraling downward but for my sake of starting the month off good I made something better of it.

Poetry pleads my lips to leave but poetry within music clouds an open mind. Here I sit, writing in my Diary while the vote for the new president of Australia is on. The thought of writing poetry slackens within my mind as I’ve just had a shower and no real thoughts came to my head but to start writing in my Diary. The shower is usually the foundation of my literary ideas but today there was none there but the days events. So why do we not begin the day’s events and make our own assumptions of this month’s rocky beginning. The first of this month was supposed to be the ending of ‘The Recognition’ but I still have a cold and don’t feel as if that time has come for me yet.

Waking up this morning at 8:30 a.m. I had myself something quick to eat and then jumped into the shower quickly. When the time reached 9:00 a.m. I gave Jett a call so we could plan our day at the beach but looking outside I noticed clouds like last weekend. Jett picked up within two rings and asking him how long he had been up for Jett replied “I’ve been up since 8:00 a.m.” Jett’s next words before I started to get excited were “I can’t go today, someone stole my money.” Trying to figure out how he could lose his money from leaving my house last night that waking up in the morning I learnt that he supposedly had $50 in his drawer and one of his brothers had taken the money. For that reason the day was spoilt and so I said to Jett “If you do get some money give me a call back and we’ll get going to Cronulla because it’s a hot day.”

My trip to Cronulla beach with my new towel and Jett for company didn’t happen. I’d like to think that Jett didn’t dog it to go out with Min-Su (Because last night it sounded like they were trying to make plans for Saturday) but I can’t be sure. If I had called Jett later in the day he probably would have had his phone off or he would have been with Min-Su so I didn’t bother ringing. That dampened the rest of my day as I had nothing planned so I decided to get some sleep for the hours I missed out on.

From 9:30 a.m. I slept right until 11:00 a.m. and then as soon as I woke up I gave Lyssa’s house a call. Lyssa picked up within two rings and was somewhat surprised that I called. Our conversation was based on the election and if I had gone to vote yet. Lyssa was gearing up to head off and vote with her mum and having my parents warn me that my name was on the electoral role I had to also go. Lyssa asked me why I wasn’t at the beach and upsettingly I had to remark that Jett chose not to go. Lyssa thought I was being sarcastic on the phone and I somewhat sounded sad. Sad was I not to be at the beach but I only was treating Lyssa nice on the phone, that’s all. Ten minutes into our conversation Lyssa received a call and I waited and waited and waited. For two minutes I hung on the phone and then decided to hang up because I was becoming bored. Walking upstairs to make myself some food Lyssa called back. Asking if I could call Lyssa back when I got back downstairs she told me that she was off to vote so I should call her in an hour. Lyssa didn’t mention who she was on the phone with and was trying to avoid it so she must be glad we didn’t talk about that.

Hanging up the phone I had something to eat and then picking up the movie that Jett forgot to return when he hired a movie last night I headed to Video Ezy to return it. Running that errand the next job was to head for the elections at Bradbury Public School. This was the first time ever I’ve voted so it was somewhat all new to me but I knew what was happening. Picking up all the leaflets handed out I didn’t pay attention to them because I knew who I was voting for. While my name was being looked for in the books I thought it was funny how my last name was spelt correctly but for both my parents their last name was ‘Eleninouski’. The main voting paper was huge, three A4 pages side by side and how much folding was required to place it in it’s slot, phew. My job was done and with no extra effort I made my stroll back home in the supposed 34 degree weather, the clouds were covering most of the sun out.

Back at home I gave Lyssa a call back since an hour had easily passed. Lyssa was once again back home and this time conversation was more hostile. It started when Lyssa mentioned something that she was buying for Penelope and then I noted how she was a bitch. Lyssa called me a loser and then it sprung from there. I kept arguing how Penelope was a bitch and how Lyssa used to hate her back in the day also with her fake loving towards Ali and how they used to try and compete with Lyssa and I. Lyssa tried not to hear it even though I was chopping her and that turned into more aggression towards the both of us. Exchanging more than some heated words I hated the fact that Lyssa kept backing up Penelope, her best friend. Well what can I do, I was only her boyfriend for one year who held the same dislikes as she did, and one of them was Penelope’s attitude.

The conversation as I knew, finished when Lyssa wanted to go. Her excuse was that she wanted to get some sleep now and not saying much I hung up the phone quickly so that I too could get my piece in. Not having shit to do for the whole day now I wanted to get out of the house and into the warm weather. So, grabbing some clothes, shaving and splashing on some ‘Cool Water’ Cologne I was ready to head out. My plans were to head to the City or just catch the train to wherever but I needed someone to come with me. So, I asked Tatton if he would like to come with me but as I knew, he couldn’t. Asking him what Shawn was up to, I was told that Shawn was going out tonight so he probably couldn’t either. Not even bothering to call Jett I knew he would most probably be out with Min-Su.
