May 8, 2026. Morning to late evening.
A comprehensive prompt
It took me until 11:30 a.m. to write out the complete new prompt in Claude AI for the personal best tracker. This has become a comprehensive app. I only need the personal best tracker, but I’ve added a bunch of new features.
I asked it to add a Sessions tab with a calendar view. In the Add tab, you can click a toggle to add sessions. Rather than adding one exercise, you add an exercise set, and it bundles that into a body part. It shows a list of the sets in your session. You can delete or edit a set, and then save.
Once saved, you open the Sessions tab and a calendar shows icons of the body parts you trained that day. You can tap in to see what you recorded. You can also add cardio: how many minutes and how many calories burned.
Smaller requests in the same prompt
I changed the color theme so it follows a color swatch. All the confirm buttons used a green that was clashing with the theme color, and I wanted that fixed. I asked for a button in settings for a BMR score and showed it how to calculate the BMR. I added onboarding for age and sex. The weight history graph needs numbers on the axis; currently it just shows dots.
I don’t think I’m going to play around with it after this. It’s even more than I anticipated. I don’t want to add eating schedule features. That’s too much information for one app.
A target weight line
After lunch I ran another operation, not for bugs, but for functions I wanted to add. In the body mass index section you can now set a target weight, and it shows up on your weight history graph as a red line, so you can see how close you are to it.
By 1:35 p.m. I had gone through another $10 of Claude usage. I really need to stop spending money on it, but I like the features that I can keep creating. It’s addictive.
The database forgets
In the evening I added another $13 of usage. Now there was a problem with the database. It was remembering all my user configuration settings, and it recognized my personal bests, but not any programs or sessions.
Eventually I got it to work. There was a problem with the rules. The database and the sync worked, but if I uploaded new files, the rules would change. I think something in all my code is changing the rules.
