Six Days Behind Schedule
Two thresholds, both alike in dignity, where one for the lady on her 20th bloom, the other, significance unsigned for united households. For without the confusion, last night was Lyssa’s official 20th birthday and tonight, what should have been two years and two months since the commencement of our once united life. Yes, these past two nights have much weight upon them but for lagging chronology feel a tremendous burden, such a laden obstacle.
Therefore, as I am caught six days behind schedule, I will hurry depiction somewhat in order to arrive at a sane level of consonance. With last night being a fair success and a new phase born, life is looking good, save for the burden that these pages tend to create. Heading out with Tyler and Nero for the first time in a group, I was surprised of our ease to get along on Friday night to which we headed to the City.
A new stage is born, where Nero will begin like Tyler to accredit my weekends with littered outings and I will, with the bringing out of my personality, benefit much from these new beginnings. However, we are hear to speak of backlog not celebrant articles. Nevertheless, I will try in this one hour that I have before heading to the Gym to recreate skirmish to the best of my novelistic ability.
Rounding Up A Lift
Sunday now seems so distant but well worth the occasion. Knowing that I only had a couple of hours sleep after lying my head on the pillow an hour or two after midnight, I was woken up by a telephone call at 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Persistence was on the other line in the name of Jett as he asked “Do you know what time we’re getting picked up”, like me, not wanting to be left out. Deciding it was time now for me to wake up and make some calls, I looked outside at what seemed to be a sunny day and with that in mind, the day was a go.
Tyler was the recipient of my queries, as I called him up and asked who was giving us a lift. Knowing that he would have created some uncertainty, he replied “Why didn’t you call me last night”, sounding like it was now difficult to create a lift. “I can only take one of you” he explained as I retorted to the knowledge that Jett and Shawn also wanted to go. Asking me to call Shawn to see if he had the Ute for the weekend, despite it almost being 7:30 a.m. in the morning, I done just that.
Luckily, Shawn’s mum ended up waking him from his slumber and as he warily made his way to the phone, I told him of the news and asked if he had the Ute for the weekend. Praise enlightened our hopes as Shawn advised us the Ute was his for the weekend and laying the story on him, my request to have Jett and myself ride with him wasn’t rejected. “I might as well start getting ready now then” Shawn noted to which he was thinking of turning up late.
Shawn And Ralf’s Long Way Home
In the short conversation that we endured, Shawn advised me of his night at Carmen’s with Ralf and how they came back home at 4:00 a.m. in the morning. “Guess which way we came home” he asked with a telling laugh, we headed up the Wollongong way home”. Despite the both of them being extremely tired, Ralf drove the long scenic way back home without even knowing. Shawn noted how Ralf kept nodding off to which he was practically holding the steering wheel for the whole journey because they kept veering off the road.
“All I could hear was boom, boom, boom, boom as we crossed over the line on the side of the road. Asking if Carmen’s was any good, Shawn passed it off for another weekend, all this while I had to bear Keith sticking around my house on Saturday like a big thumb. “Ralf wants to come to skirmish too” Shawn uttered but I figured that there would be no way to wake up the mammoth and later in the day when Shawn picked us up, I was right.
Hanging up the phone with Shawn, I called Jett back to tell him the news and then Tyler who was already on his way to pick me up from my house. Everyone had met up at Binh’s bakery in Ambarvale and as I called off his picking me up I started readying myself that little bit more. Fifteen minutes past as the time was 7:35 a.m. and as we were supposed to meet at the bakery around this time, I received a call from Tyler.
Leaving For Jett’s House
“Where are you’s man” he asked to which he added “We’re leaving for skirmish in Helensburgh but we’re going to leave a map for the place at Binh’s bakery”. Sounding well enough, I gave Shawn a call back who was in the final stages of leaving his house and forwarding the information, he left enlightened for my house. Bringing along only the minor essentials, my glasses and my casual clothes, when Shawn arrived, I headed out all geared up and we left for Jett’s house. Jett showed no signs of slowing down as we beeped slightly out the front of his house to which he came out, packed and ready.
The road seemed an uncertain one with some certainty about we were heading. However, from the onset, we didn’t look too sure of our destination or what path to take in getting there. Driving to Binh’s bakery, I jumped out of the car and picked up the brochure map of Helensburgh. Knowing that Tyler and the convoy of cars was heading down the old Princess Highway, Shawn figured that he would take a different route despite my persistence. “We’ll probably end up there before them”
Lost Along The Sutherland Line
Shawn noted, ending my idea of ever catching up to the convoy. The path was full of conversation, most about Ralf and his habitual lack of direction. Keith also seemed to be a subject of our conversation and our hopes for skirmish that day. Driving along the old Princess Highway for a length of the way, Shawn ended up turning off towards the Wollongong Road and from there he took another turn off, I think onto the Princess Highway.
I don’t know where it all went wrong for us but we ended up heading along the Sutherland train line. Shawn was elated to the point that we could make it there before the others but we were soon to realize that there was no turn off for Helensburgh across the train line. Jett and I were flicking through the pages of a street directory in a vain search of our whereabouts and upon seeing the path we were headed, we knew we were duly off course.
Switching direction and turning back, Shawn rocked up to an intersection and done a U-turn. Knowing now that we had to head all the way back up the highway and come out onto a different exit, we done just that, knowing that we were going to be a fraction later than we had originally thought. Lapsing that lucrative time from skirmish we finally made it to the camp within twenty minutes.
Arriving At The Camp
If it wasn’t for a large billboard on the side of the road, we wouldn’t have known to turn off and as I jumped out to open the gate we trekked down the muddy dirt clad with potholes and four wheel drive action. The talk of those inevitable moments that caused anxiety to mount was the knowledge that I didn’t have a box. Being the butt of many jokes aimed at my balls being bruised up one way or the other, I was starting to lighten to the idea of buying a box.
“You know I don’t have any underwear on thought” I uttered as I then made amends to use gapping tape to my legs, much to their laughter. “Well stick together, thick as three thieves” I noted which went down fine with the other two. Parking the car right next to Tyler’s in what must have been forty cars there, I took what money was needed, locked the car door and the three of us were on our way to join for late preparations.
A Break Before The Gym
That to these words shall be the last of Sunday for now as I have a whole day to contend with. Right now I’m waiting for Nero to come over my house within the next couple of minutes so we can head down to the Gym together and after that I’m heading to Campbelltown to buy my contact lenses.
As far as having someone there with me is concerned, Imad pulled out, Shawn is heading up to Miranda with Ralf, Tyler is still sleeping and Nero has to work at 2:00 p.m. Nevertheless, that will be my next aim of the day and upon coming back home, I will hope to spend some time in front of this computer, capping off last weekend as well as this just past. Anyway, I have to get ready now as I can hear his car breathing down my neck, talk later…
A New Era Of Friends
Saturday 6:24 p.m.
Unofficial news is that there is a new era upon us, a night-light shed to the traffic of dogs and bullshit in the last few months. Out with the old and in with the new has been the anticipation that has been well weighed out. Patience has been my virtue and with this new resolve, we’re well on the way to recovery. Good humor does present us on Lyssa’s birthday that fittingly had seen the first real step of creating that bond between me and Nero.
With patience, I knew that the rightful choice of friendship could be attained and after some near hits and protective canopies, I think I have hit the target. Naqi found his mark with Martin to which they became good friends. However, as good do serve good as well, I with Nero do believe will create a bond that will see us exceeding past friendships and expectation, save for my blood ties with Imad. I’ve faded through best friends, beginning with Johnnie, shedding onto Imad then meeting up with Jett sporadically in unity, the infamous Naqi and now, patience has yielded me Pete.
There are many new and olds coming together tonight and the reason I speak of new friendships is that there has been a common ground found with me and amongst everyone else tonight. Firstly, having built my ties with Pete to which we headed to the Gym together this morning, he’s coming over tonight after work to join me in a Playstation night. He sounded eager to head over tonight and I am eager to have him along.
Tyler And Shawn Drop In
In addition, another strong runner in friendships is a late comer by the name of Tyler. He’s been in the picture for a while now and only until lately have the two of us joined forces to diffuse many another interest. Tyler just gave me a call tonight to which returned his call and despite his confessed sickness earlier today, he’s heading over my house for Playstation tonight. Shawn was also one of the pioneers to this new phase which has in recent times seen him drop off to the likes of Ralf.
Taking over my old position of yearning to go out and going to any extent, he has missed the boat but tonight, he might also be heading over my house. Today Shawn headed to Miranda with Ralf so they can shop around and as he told me nothing is on for tonight, he’ll give me a call. With three down, I also headed over Imad’s house today after coming back from Campbelltown to which we had a hardy conversation, played the Playstation and chatted about recent events.
What surprised me most about our conversation is that Imad has been to a Rave party a couple of weeks ago which means he’s got that experience of clubbing behind him for my assurance that he won’t feel as uncomfortable as Jett when he came out to a club with us for the first time. Bringing Nero into the conversation and noting that I could see if he could get Imad a job at a petrol station, I added “But I’m not sure if you’d like this guy because he’s Ace’s Brother”.
Imad told me that he thought Nero was a great guy to which he would have been happy to associate with him. Therefore, fusion again embraced a collective thought to which I invited Imad over to my house for the Playstation night. Five great divas of the 21st century together in one room, one old, one promising, one faded and one new, where I, with them all shall bring together for our new era’s worth…
Cutting The Backlog Down
Seriously, I’m so laden with preoccupation tonight it’s unbelievable. With these four people coming over tonight each at different intervals and Tyler persistent, I don’t have too much time to express myself upon these pages. I’m just getting further and further behind and with this, my mind is drawing more blanks when I type upon this screen. Therefore, it is up to me now to just dissect some days and break them down to their purest form so I can rid this curse of backlogged chronology.
It’s killing me to kill such description, especially on such vital memories to chronology but if it will get me up to date and away from this anxiety and stress, then so be it. Tyler wanted to come over within twenty minutes but knowing I had to do something among these pages tonight, I redirected his arrival until 8:00 p.m. Therefore, I have a good one hour to express myself upon these pages and by the way I am, I don’t even think I’ll get through Sunday.
