Lunch Without Najla
The time was 1:20 p.m. when our meeting had ceased and as Thalia and I planned to head to Darling Harbor together, inviting along Najla, those plans were now faltered. Thalia presumed that because we couldn’t all head out to lunch together, we had to buy our food and stay as close to the offices as possible. Therefore, the three of us headed downstairs to get some lunch and in her own little world, Najla kept walking down the street. “Where’s she going” Thalia noted and as I shrugged my shoulders she exclaimed “She’s going off to Darling Harbor and hasn’t even thought to invite us.”
Shaking our heads at her expense, we headed into the little eatery just to the side of our work and as Thalia headed into one shop, I queued in the Chinese shop and bought myself some curried chicken with fried rice. I guess this is as best a time as any to note that I have a growing appetite at work.
Before I used to suffice on just two pieces of sushi and a drink for under $5 but now I can’t go through a day without buying something as filling as Teriyaki or something on a larger scale alike as that. Therefore, from next fortnight’s payments I will increase my daily spending of food from $5 to $6 as it will make a difference.
Grabbing my meal and heading to the front of work so Thalia could have a smoke, we started chatting about Najla and again, how Thalia gets pissed off with her never being able to find files in the filing. The topic somehow got into my memoirs and as I noted I write little pointers down through the day on a piece of paper and then take them back home to emphasize, I showed her my encoded paper.
“Oh wow” she stammered, “That’s excellent” as I placed it back in my pocket and then I bid her head back upstairs with me. There was hardly anyone up in the legal department and as I didn’t want to eat alone, I bid Thalia to step into my section so we could chat and eat together. In this time, Thalia found some more conversation in regards to Najla and how she thought Najla wasn’t pulling her weight.
Sure enough, Najla made her way back to work just after Thalia had her last few words and the three of us sat together, chowing down on our food. Najla had actually scooted off to buy some Macdonald’s, sharing her chips in the short amount of time that we had lunch. In the ending stages of our chat, Thalia also noted that she might be heading to QSB in Campbelltown this Saturday.
Again, I felt like she was trying somehow to see me after work and I was obliging but obviously, my grudge of last weeks hopelessness bid me to stay home this weekend…
Home On The Express
The last portion of Thursday at work that I can recall is my chat with Jonas at the larger photocopier after I broke ours. He told me about his heading off for semi final games on Saturday for soccer in which he hopes to win the competition. We chatted away for a couple of minutes like old maids and as the day neared to an end, I headed to the station with Najla.
In our conversation, Najla asked “Aren’t you going shopping today” and as I explained Monday would be my window shopping day she replied “God, I’ve never known a guy to be so apt at shopping, you shop more than me”. Catching the express train home, as I was sitting down, I saw Kelly walk past with a friend. As she said hello to me with a big smile, she made her way back past and talked to whom I later found out to be her mother, three seats in front of me.
Jumping off the train at Campbelltown Kelly’s mum said hello to me, as if my days of breaking into Keith’s house and pulling Herman into the mischief were over. Jumping onto my normal bus, I noticed that twin girl with the blonde hair jump on at Dumaresq street. Sitting by herself this time around, she noticed me on the bus when walking on and nearing the end of my trip she took a casual glance backwards on the bus but I knew as her eyes caught mine, she was only trying to see where abouts I was.
What surprised me is that when I jumped off at my normal stop, I had a strange feeling that she would do the same and as I looked back, I sensed her behind me. What amazed me all the more was that her curiosity had her walk in front of me and up the street I normally walk towards my house.
Keeping a couple of steps behind her and trying to excel her so that she would know I was there, I wondered where she could be heading and if she was just making a big circle to get back onto St. Johns Road and back on her way to her house. I’m not sure if she was walking in this direction with the intention of narrowing down where I lived but as I walked up my street and she began walking down, I lost sight of her when I looked back seconds later.
Therefore, I figure that she went to Kelly’s house or she lives in Kelly’s grandparent’s old house which would be a remarkable thing in itself. When back at home and turning on the television to a commercial, I finally realized that the girl on the bus reminded me of Jewel the singer.
Thursday Night Odds And Ends
There wasn’t much else on the cards for Thursday night apart from sorting out through my chronology and watching ‘The Footy Show’ on television. However, in the mail I received my group certificate from Centrelink so now I can barrel my way down to a tax agent to get my tax return back within a fortnight. In addition, Keith also dropped in later in the night so he could hand me my pillow that I’ve been persistently asking for.
In his short stay with Tamsen in the car he thought to note that he was having lunch at 2:00 p.m. on Friday now that he works with Tamsen in the City. Feeling repulsed by this thought of their being back together, I knew that I would have no part to play with his lunch on Friday as well as his proposed giving me a lift home. That my friends, without the perforation of pleasantries is the all of chronology for Thursday. Now with the gap closing only on Friday’s worth and of Sunday and today’s short living, I shall continue with dismembering such chronology.
Heading Into The City
Well my consummate friends, the dawn of chronology’s day is upon us. The expectancy of one day has concluded and now with the time being 1:00 p.m. I must plan for my existent day. I know that at the start of this entry I showed no signs of heading for the City but, plans change. The call for these loins satisfaction once barks as monotony yields them to such deservancy.
Half of the reason I’m heading into the City today is because it’s a perfect opportunity for me to visit King’s Cross to swap one of the movies I already have for a new selection that I have keenly kept my thoughts upon. Finding another little loophole in the tele-banking business, I’ve transferred the minimum of $50 to my keycard and then diverted a further $30 back to my credit card which leaves me with $20 to spend, the exact amount a swap would procure.
The other reason I am heading abroad despite my need to buy a train ticket is that I need to hand in my group certificates so that my tax return can be returned forthwith. Hoping that I shall receive a further $200 to my next pay-cheque, it will come in fairly handy in buying clothes, placing in my Credit Card or saving up for that illustrious laptop computer. Anyway, I have to leave now, dress up for my little exit to life and prepare once again tonight for a belting of words upon chronology in these pages…
Running Late Friday
Monday 7:31 p.m.
The hours are bleeding evermore and I, without the will to write passionately amongst these memoirs shall to their death create. Rare is the opportunity to catch up on this chronology that just keeps taking a piece of me each night. I yearn for the days of the laptop computer to excel forth but I know, in my anticipation that there is work to be done. Right now I don’t feel like being on my computer and my attention span is less affable but a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do and if I have to bitch through grudge to clean this lagging mind of chronology, then bitch I shall…
Speaking now in regards to Friday and bi-passing the excellent day I’ve had thus far (Although I went out to just zip in and out without much action), let me begin in my usual way. Being the last day of the weekend, I was rather lazy in getting up and despite my hearing the alarm ring, I set it for 6:30 a.m.
Even then when the second alarm rang I didn’t bother waking myself up and it was only at 6:40 a.m. when mum walked into the room that I finally picked myself up, rearing to head for the shower. Due to my being late out of bed, I prolonged my departure until it was time to catch the late bus, knowing it would be a run for the late train. However, stepping out of my house around 7:28 a.m.
I made quick haste down to the bus-stop at Bradbury Shops and just as I was about to cross the road I noticed the bus speeding over the crossing. Eyeing the bus driver, I figured that if I missed this bus I would be up shit creek and as I stuck my hand out halfheartedly he stopped his bus, allowing me to cross the street in a dazed state and jump on.
Fumbling through my wallet, I finally found my concession card and money to which I gave him and then sat myself down to a list of faces usually seen on the earlier bus. Surprised to the bus being full of school kids, I figured that I had caught the bus just a few minutes earlier than the late bus I usually catch and as we headed down to the station and alighted, I knew that I had two or three minutes to spare before the train arrived.
The Girl On The Platform
Now if you haven’t heard this tale before and it doesn’t sound like déjà vu to you, then it must have happened on Friday. As I remember, jumping on the late train, I noticed the usual faces that brighten up my trip to the City. For one, while waiting for the train to arrive, the blonde girl with the mole on her face was standing out there, dressed in a great little gray number which was a dress.
On top of that little slick outfit she wore something white, like a jacket and before the train arrived, I made my way nearer to her as she had done previously. Matching my match, she stepped a couple of steps closer towards me and as we jumped onto the train I sat in a three seater as she stumped herself on the two seater one in front of my view.
India who used to go out with Nikita was also on the train, with her mascara making it seem like she had an upward eyebrow in the way she applied it, the Chinese look. India, with the glasses on her head (Like Rory handles his style) was sitting next to Johnnie’s mum on the train so if you haven’t heard this portion of the story before, it most probably happened on Friday.
The trip to the City was a pleasant one as I glanced over at the blonde a couple of times. I figure, by the way she dressed in her provocative Chinese skirt on the first occasion that I had seen her, I figured she could be an erotic dancer as she jumps off at Central Station. She wouldn’t be in a normal office job I can vouch for that much but she must have some sort of job that deals with people in the sense of dancing or some other artistic viewpoint.
The blonde girl listened to some music from her portable CD player most of the way into the City and she jumped off at Central. Now I’m not sure if it was the blonde girl, India or some other girl that usually catches the train but I remember that one of the trio jumped off at Wynyard where they never do. My mind is baffled as to the person that jumped off at Wynyard but it could have been the blonde.
