Calling Tyler About Money
Jumping off at Campbelltown Station the time was just past 7:00 p.m. which meant my bus would take a while. In the back of my mind I wanted to get home quicker so I decided to make my way back to the telephones to give Tyler a call. My ability to repay my Credit Card has fallen into arrears again as I had taken the last of it out on Thursday night.
The reason for this was because Tyler has been pestering me for money to head to skirmish. Knowing that I couldn’t say no after such a long time wanting to head out I decided to give his number a call. However, I had to call Keith first to ask him for Tyler’s number in which I received it soon after. Keith told me that he was at Ralf’s house for the night which was a bit mysterious but I didn’t really care.
Giving Tyler a call I asked him instantly if he wanted his money. Like luring a fish by a baited hook, I asked him to head down to Commonwealth Bank to meet me if he wanted his money. As quick as he ran out that door I was on my way to the Bank. Beating him there by a couple of minutes I decided to withdraw all that I had in my account, $110.
Fred Outside the Bank
Patiently waiting for Tyler to arrive I paced around for a little while on the footpath. From the blue I heard a car horn beep and as I looked over the white commodore showed no resemblance to someone I knew. Nevertheless, I was surprised to find it being Fred, Jett’s brother. Despite my usually not being able to fully express myself informally with Fred I found that I held my ground and felt comfortable bowing alongside his car.
Taking a casual stance across the car I leant into the window and asked him how he was doing. Having not seen him for a fair while now I’ve learnt that things have changed in his life, mainly his being engaged. Asking who the lucky woman was Fred didn’t think I would know her by name but noted that he’s known her since year seven and they’ve now been engaged for almost a year.
On that same topic, I also found out that Stan is engaged and it won’t be long now before Jett gets engaged with Min-Su. Through our relaxed conversation as the cars passed hurriedly to our side Fred told me how Jett was living back at home with his parents for three days a week. The rest of his week he spends sleeping at Min-Su’s house.
Our blissful and rewarding conversation didn’t end when Tyler arrived and signaled me from out the front of the bank. Rather, I advised Fred that he was starting to look like he was putting on a touch of muscle. Maybe it was just the new style of shirt he was wearing but I also found that his voice had deepened and in a sense, his face and all has changed noticeably. Minutes after Tyler arrived I said goodbye to Fred, thanked him for the conversation in which we caught up on past events.
Back at Shawn’s House
Shaking his hand before he drove off I watched him head down the street while making eye contact with an anticipative but modestly unobtrusive Tyler. With my money having been grabbed from the Eftpos machine I had plans to change the money at Bradbury shops because I didn’t have exact money. “Drop me off at my house” I commanded and as he asked if I had his money I explained the caper and we were off. “First I have to head over to Shawn’s house” he uttered, obviously to pick up some more deposit money.
Parking up Shawn’s driveway the both of us jumped out and headed to Shawn’s front door. Knocking lightly we were let in by his mum. As Tyler asked for the deposit Shawn noted that he didn’t get paid until Friday. In the middle of their discussion I remember that Shawn was called by Keith on his home phone. Keith wanted to know if Shawn or Tyler wanted to head to Macarthur Square with him and Ralf. Obviously, Keith was trying to muster up something from scratch and I figured that Ralf was also up to his old tricks again.
I’m certain about my presumptions when I figure that Ralf would have driven so he could be in control and Keith would have easily submitted either because he didn’t have his car back yet or he simply didn’t want to drive. As Shawn asked Tyler if he was heading up to Macarthur Square, still mostly in his pajamas he said no. However, Tyler did take the liberty of driving Shawn to Ralf’s house so he could get a lift, from there I’m not sure if Tyler went home and got changed.
Weekend Plans Fall Flat
A verbal point of our conversation I forgot to mention, I asked Tyler what the turnaround was on his asking Ace if he wanted to head to the City this weekend. Feeling a negative vibe before asking the question I was certain that Tyler’s answer was going to be what he had noted. Tyler’s excuse was that he just had a tooth filled which would have caused him too much pain to head out for a club.
Tyler had decided to stay home for most of the weekend but Ace on the other hand from what I heard was heading to the Catholic Club tonight and then to Chevy’s on Saturday. These plans he chose to follow were Keith’s monotonous plans, I truly feel sorry for him. If only I had a car, I would be heading out to the City with or without passengers. Everyone has a car now but no one goes anywhere or does anything productive with their driving time.
I kick myself now for not having gotten up off my feet long enough to buy myself a car but I can be assured that it will be in the bag come next year. Ace deciding to head out with Keith and whoever else this weekend just adds insult to injury. Surely Ace would be sick of going out with someone who has ruined more good times than any bad rerun of ‘Fat Albert’s’ Cartoon. As I have learnt from bad past experiences, Keith and Ralf are two people you don’t want to head out to clubs with.
Well, Ralf is alright counting it’s not only the two of you and he’s not choosing the location. Keith on the other hand has been droopy ever since he broke up with Tamsen and although you can’t see it shining through you know he’s a drain to hang around with when he cuts short your good night by a couple of hours because he’s not feeling good. How ironic don’t you think, Keith creating a night and then piking on his own created party, ruining it for all.
Sweet and Sour at Bradbury
Making our way to Bradbury Shops from Shawn’s house I headed to the Chinese Food Shop and bought myself some boiled rice with sweet and sour chicken. As soon as I got my change I headed back to Tyler’s car and asked the obnoxious prod if he would wait around for me. Straight out yelping no as if it was sarcasm gone wrong I picked up my bag contently, not really caring if Tyler was heading home.
Before Tyler left I just noted again to Shawn that we would plan heading out to the City on Saturday. While at Shawn’s house he told me that he was getting paid on Friday and he was going to head out to the City when he finished at 2:00 p.m. However, I persuaded him to head down with me on Saturday since I have business there and he took a shine to that offer. I gather that he will feel more comfortable buying clothes around me as he noticed the style from my selection.
Maddox at the Supermarket
While waiting for my Chinese food to get prepared I headed to the supermarket to buy something and on the way out I bumped into Maddox. Still fresh from his guilt of not having driven me to Picton for my wallet, he was uncertain whether to stop and front the assail of what words he thought I would speak. However, as the both of us came together the warm confidence engulfed the very words that I spoke. Maddox himself looked a little nervous when speaking to me as I used to feel because we were friends through a friend.
Back then it seemed that I had to make something up just to have conversation but Thursday night I felt on top of the world with my candid conversations. With Maddox and the others I always had good conversation and something to talk about and to date, it still hasn’t faded. There we sat for about ten minutes as we talked about me being at work, Jett moving back home, the Playstation, getting my hair braided and other various subjects. All this talking about getting my hair French braided is only increasing my curiosity.
For the last fortnight I have put it off with my procrastinating tendencies to feed my fashion frenzy. I feel that the more I talk about something the more I want it and I know that braiding is definitely on the agenda. Ever since I finished school I’ve always felt the desire to get my hair French braided but never had the opportunity or strong will. Now I have both including money to boot, the only question lies on when will I spend that money and to what end.
Boiled Chicken and Leftovers
With my conversation finishing with Maddox I headed into the Chinese store, chatted with the lady behind the counter and then headed home. The time was around 8:00 p.m. when I finally got home for the day. As I started loosening my pockets and taking off my suit I opened up my newly bought food and started dipping in. Mum brought down some chicken for me to eat but I just looked at it with a grim look on my face.
In one hand I had tasty chicken in sweet and sour sauce and on the other hand I could sacrifice it for some boiled chicken as per usual. As you would have guessed, I decided to have the boiled chicken as leftovers in which I never got to eating them. Relaxing and watching some television once home I finished what I was eating and then began typing late in my diary. Last night I didn’t get to sleep until a tad before or after midnight, I’m not too sure.
Dressed Up With Nowhere to Go
My night is over now, I am starting to feel tired. Tonight I didn’t go out anywhere but I can just picture Lyssa at the ‘Glasshouse’ having the greatest time and Keith out somewhere, probably at the Catholic Club being the glutton for attention he is. I figure that Keith chose to head to the Catholic Club because he wanted to chat to that lady called Soraya who is 30 years old and likes Keith, incase you didn’t know already.
I sit here proudly tonight, caring not that I didn’t go out. However, I don’t buy these clubbing clothes for nothing and I certainly don’t buy them to waste their worth on a club like Chevy’s. For the past two to three nights upon getting home from work I chuck on a swinging song, dress myself in my new clothes and stand in front of my full length mirror mucking around.
For about two or three songs I just practice some dance moves in which it builds my confidence for when I do head out to clubs. This is what I am forced to, dancing at home, being all dressed up and nowhere to go. Really, are these friends or just idiots who prefer to remain nameless idiots. What has happened to the desire and zest in our group, what has happened to our hunger for a good time.
Back in the day we had it all but now we can’t even clap our hands without someone wanting to stay home or be a nuisance. I am more eager than ever to head out and strut my stuff on the dancefloor and my good times don’t necessarily have to be at a club. I just know that none of us get invited out to parties or such anymore and that’s why I only invest in club clothing. We have lost our placing in the popularity chain and I’m just left with the stragglers, the leftover acquaintances.
Missing a Best Friend
Dare I say this but I would probably swap everyone in this group who makes my weekends shit for a friendship on par of what I had with Naqi. All I need is one best friend, to agree with each other, to make each other’s nights memorable and to reap as much as we can from each being together. I dare not say that I want to be friends with Naqi again as that is just stupidity speaking but I do speak my heart when I say it has been nabbed successfully by every person I care about who has disappeared.
Lyssa took a piece of me when we broke up, Naqi stole a part of my life when he decided to be an idiot and I have forever lost my sensibility of heart when Jewell ceased in my existence. Speaking of taking a piece of me, let me finally print in these pages the song that had captured part of my heart. The song is called ‘Crazy Love’ and although the version Jett handed to me wasn’t the perfect version, I still believe the lyrics would be the same. Therefore, let us part with the words of Aaron Neville and be off to his lyrical tune…
Crazy Love
I can hear her heart beat, from a thousand miles,
Hear the heavens open every time she smiles
And I come to her, that’s where I belong,
And I run into her arms, like a river strong,
She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love,
She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love,
She’s got a fine sense of humor when I’m feeling a little down,
When I come to her, when the sun goes down,
Take my troubles away, take away my grief,
Take away my heartache in the night like a thief,
She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love,
She gives me love, love, love, love, crazy love,
And when I’m returning from so far away,
She gives me sweet, sweet loving to brighten up my day,
It makes me righteous and it makes me whole,
Makes me mellow, down into my soul,
