The Quiet Room Table

There were a fair few girls who sizzled but it lacked from last week in some way. The night began with me, Binh and Tyler and sure enough, Chí made his way over to our desk with his friend five minutes later. The invitation I gave to them seemed to work and with five people at our desk, it was looking more like a congregation. Conversation was broadly spread towards many topics and at no time during the night did I feel out of place.

I always included myself in conversation and it didn’t seem put on because I was feeling out of place. My outspokenness was genuine and as Binh talked of his trip to New Zealand and everyone else chatted within the group, I had my contributions. When Tyler would step out to get a drink or Binh would think of the same, I wouldn’t feel like a loner with the rest of them. It feels good when the confidence that was once bottled up has now been unleashed most favorably.

Tyler Wants Chevy’s

From the onset of my arrival, Tyler, in his tipsy state, decided to make my decisiveness turn. “Tony” he called ushering me over with a turn of his head and a cheeky finger luring me in, “Come here for a second”. Upon his speaking those luring words I knew exactly what he had in his mind. Pausing for a second as I leant over and played his game, he uttered “Let’s go to Chevy’s tonight”.

Stubborn as my persistency permitted, as if he was asking for confectionery after cleaning his teeth, I sternly decreed “No, we’re going to the City”. Rolling his head back and to the side with a grin of known disappointment, he knew that we had made plans for the City and now he was trying to sucker me into a lesser night, or I thought it would have been.

Continually he would usher me over towards his direction but knowing what he was going to say I playfully delivered my continual blows to his hopes of less travel by insisting on the City. “You didn’t bring me all the way down to the Catholic Club and had me dress up for tonight in these clothes just so we can head off to Chevy’s” I argued. “Oh come on man” whiningly placed forth, “I don’t want to catch a train to the City and then catch a night-ride bus home”.

Shaking my head at him, knowing he would be almost as unbending as myself, I placed him on the same podium as Keith for the night. “Who are you, Keith or something, to be dogging me so hard from our plans” I protested. Tyler felt bad for changing his mind and kept saying he was sorry for ruining my night. Making his way across the table he stood me up partially and then gave me a big great hug. “Sorry man, I’m so sorry” he grieved with a sense of sarcasm, “I promise, next Saturday we’ll head out to the City”.

Calling His Bluff

Knowing that Tyler was pushing for his stay in Campbelltown and also knowing that I couldn’t persuade him to head to the City, I gave it one last ditch effort. “Are you serious, you don’t want to go to the City anymore” questionably I asked. Nodding his head I shook mine dishonorably at such outcast decisions. Deciding to call his bluff I exclaimed “Alright then, if you don’t want to head to the City I’m going home” and prepared myself for such an extremity.

Knowing well enough that I didn’t want to head home and find the certitude of such a void inside, I waited for Tyler to say “Don’t go man, just come to Chevy’s”. Trying all the more now to entice me he didn’t want me to head home making him feel like he ruined my night. In addition, Tyler didn’t want to head out to the City and for that, I had to reach a conclusion of my own.

As Tyler had promised me we would visit a club in the City next weekend I stated “If I come to Chevy’s with you tonight, will you promise to head to the City with me next weekend”. As his eyes lit up to such possibility, he hugged me once again in his bear tight grip and agreed thankfully to my wager.

Anders Tips The Balance

The actual setting for my decision to head to Chevy’s wasn’t set in stone until a couple more people joined our table. Tyler was intent on finding someone to even up the choice of where to go for the night. As Anders made his way past our table and then stopped to chat with us, Tyler asked “Are you going to Chevy’s tonight”. When Anders agreed that he was heading there it suddenly gave Tyler the upper hand, knowing that now I could lose my battle to head for the City.

Tyler didn’t actually use the counterweight of Anders as bait for my transition but if I headed home, it would have been no loss to Tyler. With Anders now sitting at our table the mood for Chevy’s was setting and so was our conversation. It was around this time that I decided to jump up and buy myself a drink of orange juice. Upon my standing, I did look around the quiet room to find a familiar face sitting down on the tables to the right of the doors.

Kiley With Blonde Hair

Having three tables co-joined I noticed a newly dyed blonde hairdo that looked familiar, Earlier on in the night I had noticed Dax, the guy who was going out with Kiley and as I looked more definitively at the blonde I noticed her to be Kiley. Standing myself up and feeling lofty upon my pump shoes, I made my way over to the bar. For the whole time that I was sitting across from Kiley she didn’t glance over at all, not even in slight recognition.

Obviously she would have seen me knowing who I was but she was probably just as quiescent to speak, choosing to keep to herself. I must admit, her new blonder look does suit her and with a slightly skinnier face, she has attraction but she’s not my type.

Girls Slip Past Tyler

Other people that I noticed in the quiet room before making my departure to look around for Johnnie weren’t many. Tyler talked to two girls who walked in, where both of them were attractive. There was one blonde in a red top, shorter than me, attractive, probably 17 years old and great boobs. Hugging Tyler for a second I hoped he would have the decency to introduce her to the group, after all, that is how association of a grander kind begins.

However, he let them slip through into the deeper parts of the room and as they left I slapped him across the Chest for being so naïve. “I’ve been single and without womanly affection for one year, next time you see a woman, you be sure to introduce her to me” I snarled. For some odd reason, I chose last night to inform everyone that I hadn’t gotten onto anyone for the past year I have been broken up with Lyssa. Ironically, those string of events led me to have a greater story to be told, of pleasure and content.

Running Into Devon

Apart from the two girls that walked past Tyler and that gay guy I met through Ralf from ‘Jackson’s on George” I bumped into what seemed to be an unfamiliar face. Stopping me straight before I decided to take a walk and look for Johnnie, a tall figure looked down at me, smiling, with a lady right next to him. “How are you doing” he asked me and looking at his short hair and slim but long face, it didn’t take me too long of a mental blank to realize it was Devon.

The same Devon that Lyssa knows, who worked in the City and who used to do Karate moves on Lyssa when they were younger. Amazed at his change, he now had short hair and that long length that he used to wear to work, all gone. Astonished, I shook his hand and began conversation with him, cutting off circulation from the table. “How have you been” I asked and the more important “Wow, you cut your hair, it really suits you”.

Introducing me to his lady friend beside him, he told me that it was his best friend’s girlfriend but by the way they were sticking to each other, you would have thought they were going out. As usual, Devon had that diligence about him, an unwavering calm. Our conversation lasted a fair while, spurred on by my newly found confidence and his enthusiasm to catch up. Devon told me how he now works in a new legal firm within the City as I also noted my successful merger with such a company. After five minutes chatting I let him get back to his brisk walk, said goodbye to his lady friend and was then on my way myself, looking for Johnnie.
