Suit Shopping Worries

Hey baby, the frantic tabulation has already begun in regards to finding suits and working out a routine for my employment. Today I spent most of my day within the City looking at different suits, shirts and shoes and to be totally honest, there isn’t a decent shop in the City that meets my needs, likes and budget. You can either buy a shirt worth $30 and it looks as cheap as it is bought or you can buy a shirt worth $130 which is A class but is too high for my expenditure.

There was no middle class fashion shops that I could find in the city and what’s more, save for one shop called ‘Politix’ I didn’t find any clothing that agreed with me. Who knew that shopping around for a tie could become such a perplexity and because I am so used to buying blue shirts (As it is my color) I didn’t stray too far from blue ties.

In all seriousness, it was a hectically fired day and although I was just looking around I can’t say that I had a good day of shopping. While in the City my eyes did stray to nightclub fashion many times and that’s how I got the interest in a suit from ‘Politix’. I know that in my first week I’ll only have two or three different outfits to wear but in time I will be much more exuberant towards owning a full collection of designer label work clothing.

Not to sound demeaning to the majority of people I will be working with but most of the guys didn’t stray too far from the white shirt, economical tie and ordinary pants. Even though I will be the new guy I won’t down dress my style. Instead, my main purpose is to stand out with the clothing I buy. Not just to look appealing and desirable but to look smart, creative and approachable.

The clothes I will buy will definitely be fashionable and I hope that I will not only fit in but gain some meager respect and identification. I don’t just want to be another white collar in the office but I want to be recognized as the rookie junior who dresses well and does as good a job in the office as he does choosing his styles…

Counting Down To Monday

The countdown for Monday is set as today winds down another day before my loss of freedom is bolstered. Tomorrow I seek to head out early in the morning again and head to Parramatta this time around. Hopefully when I leave work on Monday I will be able to race up to Parramatta and quickly buy something placed on hold and then head home. Tomorrow will be judgment day, to see whether I will be able to buy clothing from Parramatta and have them open longer than 6:00 p.m. on Monday or if I will have to purchase from the City and for that, visit the location again on Friday and Saturday.

Not only that, I have to find a good spot to purchase my food on work days and then a place to sit. Hopefully I will get a one hour lunch but I doubt that this won’t e the case. The way I figure it, I want to have energy in the mornings so each morning I’ll set out to eat two bananas, fruit loops and some yogurt. The bananas I will buy on Monday either with my money or with the help of mum and the rest is common inventory for mum.

The way I see it, there will be a big change when Monday arrived, a big change to my lifestyle. Yes, I will eat healthier in the mornings and have a mild lunch and a big dinner but I will suffer to my usual four or so meals. This however will give me a chance to slim down. On top of that, I will only have a couple of hours once getting home to type on my diary so I will have to downgrade my entry size.

Another setback is the Gym I so proudly visit. Although I will be putting aside money to visit the Gym I’m not sure if I will be able to fit it into such a busy schedule. If I can, Wednesday night after work and Saturday mornings will be the days where I work out, none more, none less.

Budget For A New Look

Now also, having just done a budget (Yes, this is all so organized and premature) I figure that the first three months will be dedicated to paying off my Credit Card bill of $1000 and purchasing $1800 worth of clothing, be it work, casual or nightclub clothing. Just to name a few things I had seen in the City today, an Oxford Jumper, Fcuk Backpack, Cab 55 Wallet, chrome perfume and that brilliantly slick outfit from ‘Politix’.

Also on the list are some UE Jeans, work shirts, ties, work pants, chrome perfume, work shoes, cotton jumper and contact lenses. Don’t think I have come up with this list all at once, I’ve been looking around at most of these items for quite a while, writing them down and hoping that one day I will get the chance to own them. Well, these are the days and these first three months that will carry into the end of August (Just past Lyssa’s birthday) will be the era of a new look.

A Morning Of Phone Calls

The days are becoming so full of eventfulness that it is hard to have a full mind about it all but I’ll try my best for Wednesday. The morning began for me at 9:00 a.m. when surprisingly I received a call from Keith. “What are you doing today” he asked and as I replied in a perplexed tongue he beckoned “Do you want to come to Liverpool with me”. Still in a sleeping mood I was about to say no but he rearranged his question so that he would just head for Liverpool and have me call later.

Within half an hour I received another unexpected call, this time it was from Ottoline Vance, my temping agency. Funny it is how the agencies don’t call for such a long time and then in one big heap they dump all their bidding onto you. Ottoline was the person to speak to me as she firstly asked me how I thought I went for the job and then she asked if I wanted to do a day’s work of Reception.

Basically she wanted me to jump out of bed and do half a day of Reception but I declined her kind offer because it would have all been too sudden and Reception wasn’t my thing. With my answer Ottoline wished me luck for my job and told me that she would ring the employer and call me back with their response later in the day. For the next hour my sleep was unscathed as I finally decided to jump out of bed at 10:30 a.m.

The Job Is Mine

With 11:30 a.m. arriving I received another call in my uninhibited day in which it was my temping agency again. Finally, the news I was waiting to hear, the job was mine. She started by saying “How badly do you want the job” and when I growled out “Really bad” she laughed “Well, the jobs all yours”. This was music to my one and a half year silent ears.

Advising me of the time that I was starting and the day (Which is Monday 8:45 a.m.) she explained a couple more details and then quick as jets, she was off the phone. I feel that there was plenty we didn’t touch upon like “Make sure you bring your bank details on Monday as well as your tax file number” but no such mention. Therefore, I’ll have to take along those details as well as my superannuation details.

Chasing Kenzo Fashion

With this news of a new career in my mind, I was humble and noble in body but in my mind I was jumping around in delight. Highly exultant I started thinking about what clothes I was going to purchase with the money I would receive on Monday. Therefore, I called David Jones in the City and reading through FHM for some fashion tips I tried finding out where to purchase Kenzo fashion. The Fashion Consultant for FHM called me back within a couple of minutes as we discussed the Kenzo advertisement.

I believe that this designer label is going to be my next favorite when it finally comes out in Sydney. While speaking to the Fashion Consultant for FHM Keith gave me a call on the other line. This is when he actually thought I was speaking to Lyssa but as I advised him of my actions I told him I would call back. While still on the phone I was called by Shawn who wanted me to give Keith a call so when all was done I rendered that task.
