Fainting in the Bank Queue (Part 2) – Mad Chaos: April 1, 1999

A Late Start and a Necklace Repair

Getting now to my day, let me begin with my waking up at 2:00 p.m. This seems to be the standard time of awakening for the day. Having no time to ready myself or have a shower I put some clothes on quickly, grabbed my CD and headed to Campbelltown. Contemplating whether to take an old jacket or not I thought against it and braved the cold with my bond shirt. The weather wasn’t too cold as I made it to the Chinese Jewelry shop and once there I handed them my necklace to get it fixed. “Come back in half hour” the Asian lady told me and as I headed out my new destination was Commonwealth Bank.

A Man Falls in the Bank Queue

Being only 3:00 p.m. I had plenty of time at the bank before it closed and filing out my deposit slip I found the line to be fairly large. Patiently I moved through the line and when I had arrived to the wooden portion of the queue with not much further to go something happened.

Hearing someone moan I looked back to see a man falling and his legs giving way from under him. Awkwardly falling backwards as his knees bent forward it looked like he was doing that horizontal walk under the stick game (Can’t recall the name). As his feet gave out from under him he hit his head on the wooden handrail pretty hard and then fell to the ground. At first he looked like he was having a fit as some spit starting coming from his mouth but he soon calmed down.

Pretty much everyone crowded around him but staying in their relative position in line. Someone called an Ambulance with their mobile phone and then a local Chinese doctor checked him out and considered him to have low blood pressure, didn’t eat much. That drama was over in a couple of minutes as everyone formed a line around him and as I put $40 into the bank I made my way outside to see the Ambulance arriving.

Too Shy at Sanity

Heading to Sanity next I noticed Salima standing there as she was waiting on April who was serving her behind the desk. Neither of them acknowledged me but I gathered that’s because I didn’t look approachable or because I haven’t got one of them personalities. Most people that I usually stop and chat to are turning their backs to me these days, some examples are Constantine at the movies.

On my way to Sanity I noticed a hot blonde who kind of reminded me of that girl I say resembles Lyssa and is her friend, can’t remember her name. At first she was behind me but then she slowly made her way past me and as she did I noticed her G-String through the semi tight work pants she had on. Having a white patterned top she did look pretty hot but as usual, I had no balls to talk to strangers, even if they were as beautiful as her.

While in Sanity it took me a while to get served because I was just standing around, being shy and unapproachable. Most people went before me as they probably gathered I was being served and I finally stepped up after the two people behind the counter thought there was no one else to serve despite me standing around. Upon being served I didn’t find it too hard to return the Blackstreet CD, I didn’t like it too well. With all done I headed back to the Jewelry shop, picked up my chain, put it back on and then headed home.

Roadside Chat With Imad

It would be good now to point out that I noticed Penelope driving Ali’s car in Campbelltown and the passenger was Stan. Gathering that they were heading back home that would explain how I had seen Stan and Imad on the way home. After the roundabout on Jacaranda Avenue is where I had seen the both of them.

Imad looked his usual self, bum bag at the front, black jacket, singlet, tracksuit pants. Imad was going for the drug dealer look and gathering that he now smokes pot I wouldn’t be too far off the mark. As I stopped and chatted with Imad the first couple of seconds were a tad awkward for the both of us but we got into the truth in ourselves. Stan was just sitting there reserved and I assume he was thinking something like “This is Ali’s old best friend and I took his spot, I feel awkward”.

Imad told me how he had a new girlfriend that he met through work called Imani. She’s African American with a tan and she’s 20 years old, just great for good old Imad. Imad was headed to a place called Spiro’s and he told me that it was a hot chips joint but I had reason to believe he was seeking out a dope seller. Our small talk ended with Imad telling me he’ll try and get me a floor spot at his work and with that we both parted.

April Fools Without the Fools

The time was 4:30 p.m. when I arrived home and for the rest of my time I just relaxed and watched television. Today having been April Fools day I did not make fun of anyone or get any treatment, just as well. No one decided to give me a call tonight but considering that I declined their offer last night and Lyssa doesn’t want to talk to me, who could blame them. This month I just want to get back into the swing of things, doing things I like, things I appreciate.

Pari and Jett at the Gym

Besides that philosophy, I made my decision to head to the Gym at 6:00 p.m. when it had already begun to get dark. This did not play me down as I had myself a good workout. There was a surprise face there, well two of them, Osama and Pari. From now Pari will be heading to the Gym around my time because he’s now working so I’ll be seeing much more of him.

Pari and I done a couple of sets together and I had him give me a hand with Bench Press for measure. Jett, Anders and Maddox were also there and as I was in a better mood than usual I had some good conversation with them. Jett was telling me once more about Eros Theater and for the time he has been planning this I say “Alright already, bring it on”. Jett is having it next weekend so I guess I will be saving some money for that. Also take out money for a haircut and the next FHM and you will see me pretty broke for the Gym. Here now is the controversy in full, my Gym routine.

The Gym Routine in Full

Chest: Beginning without a warm-up on the bikes I performed two sets for my Chest and then began on my proper sets. Incline Dumbbell Press was my first set and with 70 pounds per hand I performed 10 reps. Bench Press was next with 160 pounds and with Pari’s spot I only handled 6 reps. Moving to Machine Seated Bench Press with 180 pounds I completed 6 reps and taking it down to 160 pounds finished off 4 reps. Pausing I continued another set with 140 pounds where I completed 12 reps.

Pullovers was next and with 80 pounds I didn’t find it too difficult to perform 12 reps. Dips was the next compound exercise and performing only a couple of reps I moved to the assisted dips to perform 10 reps. Cable Crossovers was next and with 60 pounds I performed 10 reps. Bending over and raising the weight to 70 pounds I performed another 10 reps. Lastly, I moved to Peck Deck Fly’s and with 140 pounds I performed 12 reps to finish off Chest.

Biceps: Beginning with a warm-up I pushed onto Preacher Cable Curls and with 60 pounds I performed 10 reps with a close grip. Moving to One Arm Dumbbell Preacher Curls with 35 pounds I performed 12 reps per arm, this burnt me down. Standing Cable Curls was next and with 65 pounds I performed 6 reps and then dropped weight to finish an extra 4. Concentration Curls was last and with 30 pounds I managed to complete 12 reps per arm and then an extra 5 reps. Moving to Reverse Cable Curls at the end of the day I performed 12 reps with 50 pounds.

Abdominals: Stacking 60 pounds to the Ab Crunch Machine I began with 30 slow and focused reps, pausing for a few seconds on the bottom. Two sets ensued after this of 30 reps but the last was broken up three ways because it was becoming hard. At the end of my abs workout I joined Pari with two sets on the Seated Calf Raises. The first set was with 120 pounds and including my bodyweight I pushed out 12 grueling reps. Taking the weight down to 90 pounds I continued with another 10 reps there. The very last set I have to record here is a set of Standing Leg Curls with 30 pounds and 15 reps per leg.

Taking Sides on Kosovo

As Kosovo digs its feet to the ground in preparation, I for them have the same reasoning this month. They do sit attentive as I for many reasons but I with lesser quandary than Kosovo. Flagrantly do they flaunt their propaganda on television, the three American POW’s but I feel America is more the owners of flagrancy. If I were to man my Australian flag to debut for either side of this war I chose what is closer to home, Kosovo. Unjust is the haughtiness that America has been showing towards a lesser country of independence and as Kosovo voiced that they will fight until there is just sticks and stones, I will follow such courage.

There is not much more to write of here in this Diary for my first night of the month. The sleepy feeling has gone away but that is due to my having eaten more and NBC on television now. So, anon I shall to watch television again and then off to sleep after reading some ‘Edmund Ironside’.
