The Cold War Continues
Fourteen days into the new year and still my friends to me are like the cold war. There has not been one day within this fortnight of the new year that I have had a chance to go out, be it at a nightclub or just for a drive with my acquaintances. Maybe the transition to this new year has been too much. Maybe Keith’s just too busy with Noah at the moment to bother seating me in the back seat and maybe everyone else is recuperating from their holidays except for Tatton who’s a dick weed anyway.
This weekend had better break that deadlock of empty appearances because I’m starting to get pissed off with calling Keith and waiting for his promised calls but never receiving them. In the case that I don’t go out with my friends this weekend for my birthday to only repeat my last birthday which was pretty much a disaster I have other plans. Wouldn’t it be right that I would attend everyone else’s party but when it comes to me and setting something up no one will be interested.
Well, Friday night will see me heading up to Chili’s with Lyssa where she will take me out to dinner for my birthday. Monday will see me and Lyssa once again heading down to the movies so we can watch ‘Rush Hour’ together, that’s my birthday. I’m hopeful that something will happen on the weekend involving my new hound dog club-wear but here’s hoping…
Waiting On A Phone Call
Today, as usual I done nothing more than head to the Gym and speak to Lyssa on the phone as no one else could be bothered giving me a call. For some time I didn’t think Lyssa was going to call because the time ticked away to 9:30 p.m. and having called Lyssa’s house she was still out. I was thinking she could be out shopping but then I also thought that Lyssa could be trying to take not calling me seriously.
As that went through my mind, thinking of Lyssa not giving me a call for the night I started feeling insecure and vulnerable to my feelings of loneliness that were overwhelming me in the past few days. Then I started thinking of the worst and how something could have happened to Lyssa on the way home and I started to get worried but I knew that wouldn’t be a possibility.
Chivalric thoughts started whizzing through my head as I knew that I would be hopping out of my house and traveling back and forth on trains to the City to see what could have happened to Lyssa, trying to find her. I feel that if nature was to take Lyssa from me now so that I may grieve to never see her again it would feel like two planets of melancholy colliding and the brunt of the sky upon my emotional back to carry as a burden for the rest of my life, these tears.
Music Wakes Me Up
My day began at 2:15 p.m. and after a blissful sleep I awoke myself to my mum’s singing upstairs. It stressed me so much as I was trying to sleep that I had to stop hearing her insipid noise the best I knew, turning on my music very loud. That did seem to stop her and that seemed to wake me up for the rest of the day at hand.
If only I could wake up to music every day, it seems such a natural stimulant to wake me in the mornings and such a sedative to place me to sleep at night. Having my usual shower and meals I didn’t see much of the outside world today apart from walking outside in the blistering 40 degree heat and visiting the Gym for my hectic workout. The Gym, I must admit it has brought me from a slackening period in my life and bringing me to this fit and almost taught body of mine.
The Gym And My Body
I have no complaints about the Gym or my body but I must be modest, there is still plenty of work to do. I might be saying that I’ve been the most keen at the Gym these days compared to the rest of my life’s knowledge working out but it’s all the same. I have gained a couple of extra kilos where needed but some of that has also handed itself over to my stomach.
If you can understand this, I’m not skinny, I’m not fully muscular but I’m not fat as well. Looking at myself in the mirror today I know I have much more to go and with this ectomorphic body of mine it’s going to be a long haul. Still, months ago I prayed that I would have a good body for summer and here it is but I haven’t been using it to my greatest capacity.
Lyssa didn’t give me a call today from work as you would gather, she was overly busy. The reason Lyssa gave me a call so late in the night was because she met up with Nikita in the City to have lunch at Sizzler, she was full. After that they met up with Constantine and they headed somewhere which I can’t recall, I think it was the pub at Leumeah for a round of drinks. Well, let me speak of that when it’s time is here but now, let me speak of the Gym.
Chest Day Twinge
Chest: Starting with my two minute warm-up on the bikes I didn’t feel stretched enough even though I did plenty of Chest stretches. My muscles were too tight and later it almost proved costly with me feeling a slight twinge in my left part of the Chest this time. It felt as the right hand would with the ligament trouble but very restricted and slight, what’s happening. Maybe it’s due to me not stretching properly and for that I done two warm-up sets. In the future I think I should include a set of 50 reps or so at the beginning of a major body-part or two sets of 30 reps, either way.
Beginning with Peck Deck Fly’s with 160 pounds after warming up I found myself to pound out 15 reps, slowly and strictly. Pausing I once again left that weight upon the stack and belted out 12 more reps. Moving to Seated Machine Bench Press with 160 pounds I completed 12 reps but with some minute left Chest pain.
Moving to Incline Dumbbell Press Fly’s with 45 pounders I created 12 strained reps. Moving to Pullovers with 60 pounds I performed 12 reps for myself. Walking over to Cable Crossovers with 50 pounds on each side I performed 12 strenuous reps. Taking the weight up to 60 pounds I done some Bent Over Cable Crossovers just completing 12 reps.
Lastly I moved back to Machine Seated Bench Press and once again with 160 pounds completed 10 reps.
Biceps And Abs Wrap Up
Biceps: My second most favored body-part, the Biceps. Beginning with a 20 pound warm-up on Cable Preacher Curls I made my way to Standing Cable Curls. Pausing and panting erratically for a set with 70 pounds I managed to pull off another 10 reps. Moving back to Cable Preacher Curls with 50 pounds on the stack I done 6 reps which is my new high by a rep but stopping for a couple of seconds I completed 3 more. Moving to One Arm Dumbbell Preacher Curls with 30 pounds a hand I completed 10 reps. Finally, moving to Concentration Curls with 25 pounds I managed to finish off 12 reps per hand.
Abdominals: They seem to be getting harder these days but I started with 40 pounds and for 3 sets completed 30 reps each. Jumping onto Low Ab Crunches I completed 12 reps to exhaustion before heading home a trifle sweaty.
