The Penny Finally Drops
Shit, now I understand why Lyssa wanted to get together with me tomorrow night. Why don’t I ever pick up on things, why am I so half-witted when it comes to picking up things. Tomorrow as you might have guessed it is the 21st and that to Lyssa and I is a significant date. One year and five months ago tomorrow would have been the date that Lyssa and I first got together and now I can understand why Lyssa kept telling me that she had nothing to do tomorrow night and why Saturday seemed so significant to her.
Now I understand why Friday wasn’t good enough and Sunday was just too far away, second prize to her. Now I realize that Lyssa must have halted her socialization on Saturday with her friends so she could celebrate what seems now to be a pointless landmark day.
Now that I’ve realized and it’s hit me I understand. I understand why Lyssa said that I always get my way and I realize why Lyssa and I had a fight over the phone. What I don’t understand is why couldn’t Lyssa just say that Saturday was the 21st. Lyssa, in factuality is like me, I would have done the same and hoped that Lyssa clued in to what that day was meant to be. That’s what I done to her the day I traveled to Parramatta with her, the whole thing was orchestrated to perfection and Lyssa fell right into my trap.
This time there is no trap to fall into but tomorrow I will spend my night with Lyssa and we will have a great time. No longer will Lyssa think to herself that I’m being selfish in my ways. This significance shall be noted and tomorrow (If Lyssa will still have me) will be our night of sin, but only to the discerning eye.
Flat Line With a Silver Lining
Now as I have placed my CD given to Lyssa inside the CD player I sit here and reminisce of the day where none has happened. This month really has started to go downhill but as I said yesterday or an entry or two ago, Flat-Line seems to be the response this month. Tonight I’m not going out and this weekend seemed to be full of nothing. Now I realize what Lyssa meant when she told me that her weekend was going to be shit even though she was going out tonight and would be with me on Sunday, most probably.
Lyssa really meant it was going to be shit because I didn’t realize the importance of Saturday night but now I do, girl I understand. Back to my Flat-Line, if there is a downer there always seems to be an upper. Tonight before realizing tomorrow’s fate and before writing in my Diary I thought this month was going down and you would probably tend to think the same. There of course is tonight which I am spending by myself but learning of tomorrow that will more than equal the fact that I’m alone.
Retracing the Amplifier Night
Before I speak of my dull day let me now elaborate on a point of the past that I have been trying to figure out, gathering information from here and there. I’ve been trying to track my past before my Diary even started where the main point I wanted to find out was when I done my first robbery here in Campbelltown to steal my amplifier. First I asked Tatton and based on his 80’s knowledge and trivial answers he told me that it was just after Candice passed away, maybe a month of two after.
It was definitely in 1995 to him and so I gathered that it wasn’t in my Diary. Shawn was also there that night and he filled up a bit of the gap telling me that he barely knew me when I stole the amplifier and didn’t even know of it back then. That led me to believe that it could have been just after Candice passed away because I knew of Shawn but only when he used to visit Candice’s house and shoot hoops with him.
Hoops and a Funeral
Candice Lane was his name and shooting hoops in his front yard was his game. Two houses down from Imad’s old unit in Airds, one unit down from Sione's unit and just across the street from where Keith still lives. There the hoop hung on the side of his outside car port and as he used to get people to play basketball with him, I was one of them. The basketball hoop was low enough for us to slam dunk it with a box on hand that we leaped off. There I learnt the under the leg and furthest hand over-arm throw to the hoop, it went in most times.
Lake was definitely at the pinnacle of my ascendancy into friendship and I feel that his death brought a closer bond between the friends that I knew then. I remember Candice’s Funeral and that’s when I wore my dad’s suit top. Driving there in Nina’s dad’s car (Who’s name is Marlon) is what I also remember. Shawn, Ralf and Binh were there at the Funeral and what I most remember about the three of them apart from the fact that this was our first real meeting where we had a conversation was that Ralf was wearing a purple suit.
It made him stand out but I guess he was trying to do the same thing as me when I wore my dad’s jacket, respect for Candice. So, it must have been just after Candice’s passing but before I go back in my Diary and find out when that was (Because Imad, Janice, Tatton and I drove there one very wet afternoon to commemorate his death) let me speak of the rest of the gossip about this controversial day with Jett and I.
Speaking with Jett about the subject matter I asked him what he remembered about that night. Jett told me also that it was around August 1995 or just before and he seemed to remember a vital clue, it was a Sunday night, very late. Obviously Jett and I weren’t working back then and we gathered that Sunday night would be the most quiet on the lead up to the working day. From what I remember of 1995 reading through my paperback Diaries where I used to write my workouts in it was known mostly as the summer of love. Shawn agreed with me on that particular point.
Leaving School Early
1995, this was indeed the year of learning, not in school which I undertook at the start of the year but once I finished school. I remember that after year 10 I forewent more studies in year 11 which was 1995 but after the first semester which would have been around April I left school. The main reason I left was because I couldn’t handle all the pressure and I knew that I didn’t do much homework even though I tried.
The secondary reason and the more heartfelt was the fact that my most respected teacher in the music department left for another school. First there was Mr. Minkow through to year 10 who taught me the basics of music and got me interested in Musicology. Near the end of year 10 Mr. Minkow left and in came Mr. Davidos where I think his first name was Shawn. It is for him in the year 10 final assessment that I played the Wedding Ballad that he gave me the music for.
He gave me motivation to start my quest into music but sadly when he decided to leave after the first term in year 11 I did too. My inspiration was leaving me and knowing that I was only there for music studies I also left.
Keyboard and Amiga Days
Knowingly, my real musical talent sprung from the fact that I played my musical electric keyboard piano for a couple of years. I’m not certain when I bought my electric organ that cost me $500 but I remember buying it from Chalker’s Music. My dad wasn’t home for that day so I had to take my bike down to the shop and carry this meter long piece of machinery over the bar of my bike. Sure, it looked stupid getting home but once I did I played that sucker until I was a great player.
The money to fund that organ came from mum so it would have just been while I was at school because I remember Mr. Davidos lent me a foot sustain pedal. This organ must have been purchased around February in 1995 but I do remember doing the paper run to buy my very first Amiga. Eric helped me with that one. I asked Eric if he could pay half of my computer if I could come up with half.
Of course he thought I wasn’t going to come up with the cash but I worked my ass off delivering most of those pamphlets and then burning the rest of them down at Ruse when Imad and I used to visit the bush. The computer was bought because Eric and I used to get into fights in 1994 because I was using his Commodore but everyone upgraded to an Amiga so I was happy.
Old Friends From School
The Amiga was the reason that Imad and I met when we were back in school. So that goes against the grain of all I said back then about me buying the computer in year 10 but I remember I was young. It could have been the Commodore 64 that Imad and I got hooked up for but I remember we started hanging out in year 8. Asking around the room if anyone had Defender of the Crown for Amiga Imad popped up his head and after that we have been the best of buddies since. Johnnie and I used to be best friends before this, since I arrived in Campbelltown in year 4.
We had been best friends along with Kaspar and Kathryn but that soon broke off as all of them went to different schools. Around year 8 I met up with Rita, the Hindu girl I always speak of as being the first person I really went out with. She was also the first person to write me a letter and if you recall from my past entries, we broke up because people said that I cheated on her with her red headed friend, not true, well not fully.

Diary Of A Mad Chaos is a daily diary written from March 1996 until today, of which individual books and book series have been created, namely “The Lost Years” an exploration of young, entwined love, the “Wubao In China (猎艳奇缘)” book series which provides an extensive comparative analysis of the cultural differences between Eastern and Western societies, and the book titled “Foreigner (华人)” an exploration of race relations in Australia.
