Tatton’s Terrible Driving Night (Part 2) – Mad Chaos: October 1, 1998

Keith tried to clutch the car backwards but we had trouble doing that and after getting the car started we let it warm up and then it was Keith’s turn to drive once again. Getting out of Ingleburn we headed to the industrial state at Ingleburn and it was Tatton’s turn once again to drive. Not to give too much humiliating detail, I’ll first say everyone is a learner at some stage; Tatton is just going to be there longer. This boy does not know how to drive, to say it nicely. He skids when he breaks, over-rides or under-rides the clutch, never smooth. Drives pissed when he’s angry, gets anxious when he sees traffic, scared of roundabouts and most importantly, tries taking corners like he was Peter Brock. The only problem with Tatton’s cornering is he doesn’t realize what he’s doing which is going heaps fast and then trying to turn a 90 degree corner while still traveling 60 km/h. Keith had to grab onto the wheel and around three times we thought we were going to hit the corner, luckily we didn’t.

Heading for a local park at Ingleburn Tatton was to learn hot to circle there but the car conked out again. There we sat for five minutes as we tried to get the car working again and in this time I was eyeing out the group in the distance who were bonging on. There were about three girls with them and since we took ages starting the car some of them came over. Only being young the guys asked what we were doing and I remarked, “Coming from Hawaii.” The reason I said that was because Keith had a Hawaiian shirt on and for the whole night all of us were bagging him for his choice in shirts. The kids left after a couple of words and then it was back to get the car started. When the car did start Tatton done some circles around a big tree and noting how shit a driver he was I didn’t trust the tree being so close. Keith jumped into the driver’s seat and done some burnouts for Tatton in his car, fun.

Driving around we made our way to Mobil at Raby where we met up with the guy I always hear of, Ace. Working at Mobil we talked to him for a little and then as he gave his car keys to Keith we walked over to his stocked up Nissan Pulsar. Whatever it was he bought the car for $13000 with (From what I hear) a better system than Tod’s or even Miroslav’s. There were massive taco’s everywhere, the seats were colored like Ronald Macdonald and brand new, the inside was schmick and the outside was all painted with the car’s name, like a sports car. It was a looker and I’ve seen it around every now and again. He must have installed a new alarm on the car because it was now a voice activation alarm “Step away from the car,” you know the deal. Keith wanted to drive the car around but Ace wouldn’t let him. When Ace finished work and closed up he came out to talk to us as I learnt he also had sex with Phoenix and he was going home to get a root off his girlfriend as soon as he was done.

Driving to Tatton’s house we noticed Imad driving around the corner and coming onto Broughton Street. Keith was driving and decided to speed up as he told me the story of how Ali wants to now run Keith’s Accordia. Catching up to him at the last set of lights Imad ran Tatton’s car and beat his ass. Nearing Tatton’s house we pulled in to drop off the car, Imad turned around and came back to talk with us. Walking up to Imad’s car he apologized for not coming over for the day but he had things to do, yep. We then talked about how that was Tatton’s car and how he’s a pretty bad driver and informing Imad that we had seen a couple of girls at Caltex that were waving to us he thought he would come back with us. Imad told me he would be coming over tonight but I’m not sure if he will.

Jumping into Keith’s car we headed for Campbelltown and Imad tried racing Keith (Well not racing but just being himself) but Keith didn’t want to race. Finally my persuasion done it to him and he booted it down Broughton to reach 140 km/h and way past Imad. Imad’s car kept fucking up with the clutch and it kept bleeding so he made his way home, to his dad’s house. Not sure when I asked Tatton to come to the beach but I did ask and he might consider it for this Saturday. Let’s just hope the day won’t be cloudy like last weekend. Today the day is heaps sunny but more on that later.

Driving to pick up Simon’s car from Mobil in Campbelltown we had nothing to do so we drove to Simon’s new house in Rosemeadow to think of something.

Thursday 5:44 p.m.

Things are going good for the new month. Yesterday as I might have noted, I filled out the advance payment application and giving them a ring today I found out that the money will be in the bank tomorrow. So I’ve worked out exactly where the money is going and I am proud to say that $250 will go into buying work shoes and probably two work shirts so I can have some confidence in myself. The rest of the money goes to the beach where I will buy myself a beach towel, some beach shorts (So I can stop borrowing from Jett), some cheap perfume for myself and then some weekend money should be left over. That’s the reason I stopped writing in the last entry, I was getting bored of writing and wanted to work out where my money was headed.

Just after finishing up on my last entry I also walked outside with a small towel and lay on the scorching ground. The sun was out in force today and I thought I could catch some rays from the sun for a couple of minutes. Lying on my towel with only my old boxer shorts on it didn’t take long for me to start sweating, only a minute. Turning over, I only stayed outside for ten minutes before heading back in. The beach is the place to be and this Saturday I’m going to be there and probably on Sunday or Monday since it is a long weekend, that’s if Jett wants to go.

There are fires starting now, only into October. There is a huge bush fire that started somewhere and stopped traffic on Princess Highway. With all the tornadoes and hurricane’s going on in America and putting every house under water, I’m wondering if the Nostradamus Prophecy will come true in 1999. Another piece of news is that Cityrail are striking on Wednesday so no one can catch a train for the whole day. The reason they are doing this is to protest against the hundreds of people getting sacked, so that there can be more security after hours. Personally I would prefer the security guards on the trains than more people to ask where I am going.

Back to the story of Simon’s house, we all walked into his house and sat in his lounge room. The furniture was there and looking around I realized that they actually had furniture and the house looked good with a huge backyard. So, if they were ever having a party (Which we were trying to set up for this weekend) we could have one at their house, inside or out. Simon and Lucas were being tight and told us they weren’t having a party, that’s pretty tight. Simon showed me around the house and told us all to be quiet as Lucas was sleeping. The time was 1:00 a.m. and Lucas was getting up in four hours to get ready for work. Showing me his room I was surprised to see it was a fairly medium sized room, pretty good. Their idea to move out was pretty liberating I take.
