Lost Necklace and a Night with Lyssa (Part 2) – Mad Chaos: October 30, 1998

Lyssa finally finished after a couple of minutes and taking the heavier bag of DX in my hands we made our way to the elevator and then downstairs. Shayma who was on Reception informed Lyssa just before she left that Devon (Who she refers to as the stalker because he calls Lyssa at work ten times a day) was on the phone and he wanted to meet Lyssa on the way to DX. Lyssa showed me a some Caprice pants, really nice looking one’s too and she told me she had bought them for $80. Later in the day while Nikita was off doing her own thing Lyssa informed me that Devon Lowry had bought them for her, the guy who rings her work ten times a day, works down the street and is her friend from yonks ago. Lyssa explained to me that Devon didn’t have any intentions at all with the pants, he just liked buying his friends gifts. Personally I think that’s a load of crap but Lyssa wasn’t complaining about the gift. It seems he went to a fair bit of trouble to get the size and the type of pants right because they looked like a perfect fit on Lyssa. Lyssa told me that Devon has been going out with his girlfriend for three years and upon asking her if she knew that Devon bought her these pants Lyssa told me that Devon’s girlfriend had recently cheated on him. That brought some light onto the subject and I just gathered that Devon bought Lyssa the Caprice to get even with his three year girlfriend. Still, I think Devon has something for Lyssa because he could have chosen heaps of other girls, he chose Lyssa and I know he has some master plan.

Walking to the train station, the three of us made our way to Wynyard station and for ten minutes I walked into a female clothing store with Lyssa and Nikita as they shopped but not being able to take the heat of shopping with girls I stepped outside. Half an hour later Lyssa and Nikita were finished and all Lyssa bought was a top, Nikita bought two tops. Apologizing for taking their time we made our way back into the station and then jumped onto the next train home. Nikita picked the last three seater right at the back of the carriage and even though there was heaps of space she decided to enclose us in those three seats and turn the other seats around. That was a bit odd as Nikita sat in the middle and our heads kept hitting the vertical part at the back. After a couple of minutes we decided to sit on the seats just in front of us but this time Nikita sat on the window and me next to Lyssa who was in the middle. This made me feel a bit more comfortable to free my hands and rest my legs against Lyssa’s leg.

The conversation back home was about having something to eat as soon as we got to Campbelltown. Lyssa chose for the three of us to visit Red Rooster, I was just wondering if Lyssa would tell Nikita that she was headed for my house if Nikita ever asked what she was doing. That question did come up but rather, Nikita asked if Lyssa wanted to go out for the night. Trying to mind my own business and look ahead I heard Lyssa trying to squirm her way out of a night by telling Nikita that she didn’t really want to go out even though Nikita had her mum’s car. For a second I thought Lyssa did inform Nikita that she was coming to my house because she would talk to me about it later but it happens that Lyssa didn’t say a word. Some more gossip, there is this guy called Everett that Nikita got onto last week. Lyssa thinks he’s young but he’s only 10 day’s younger than Nikita and he’s also 18 years old.

Back in Campbelltown Lyssa and I jumped off and farewelled Nikita who headed for Macarthur Square to catch her bus. Lyssa wasn’t too sure where she wanted to eat and walking down Queen Street she changed her mind a couple of times but finally taking some money out of the bank we headed for Red Rooster. Only with half an hour until our next bus we would either be quick or take our time eating to catch a later bus. Entering Red Rooster ordering took long enough and as we sat down to eat Lyssa started chatting about how Devon bought her the Caprice Pants. The best way to Lyssa’s heart is through money. If you flashed ever lasting love and heaps of money in front of Lyssa’s face you can gather which one she will not hesitate the slightest to chose. Putting in my thoughts of why Devon gave her the pants, my theories became irritable to Lyssa and she thought I was jealous. In reality I was only informing Lyssa of why I thought he gave her the Caprice and that aggravated me. For that we sat in silence for the next five minutes and Lyssa even told me she was going home but when I visited the toilet and came back out the mood changed.

Finishing up on our food we had half an hour until the bus arrived so we made our way up the street. Lyssa showed me an RX7 driving up the street and told me it was similar to Ali’s car. Lyssa then told me she wants to buy herself a Honda Civic if she gets out a loan. What pissed me off was when I told Lyssa that I was going to buy a TA 22 in the future and she looked at me as if I would either never be able to afford the money or I wasn’t a good driver. Lyssa has never seen me drive before in her life and here she is criticizing my driving expertise. That pissed me off because I’ve seen Lyssa drive and I know I’m better than what she can achieve on the road. Lyssa also went on to tell me that she read Capricorns are the worst drivers so she told me I shouldn’t buy a car at all. Then I went on to chop her by informing her that Ali (Her now best buddy) was also a Capricorn so he shouldn’t drive as well. Lyssa has changed her feelings for Ali since I broke up with her and he moved in on my territory. When I was going out with Lyssa I would say something about Ali and Lyssa wouldn’t defend him in any way despite her thinking she was the same friend to him back then as she is now. But, these days if I bring something up about Ali in conversation Lyssa automatically tells me to stop bagging him, like he was now on the likes of being the same kind of friend as Penelope is to Lyssa. Shame, Lyssa would probably look at this piece of literature and say that I’m all wrong, I’m speaking out of my ass but you know I’m right, things have changed and will keep changing…

Walking past KFC we noticed Kiley sitting inside eating by herself. Lyssa waved and so did Kiley so with some time to spare we walked inside and sat with her. Kiley was just informing us how she was going to pick up one of her friends after she finished eating and as the two of them walked outside for a smoke and conversation I came out with them. There we sat for five minutes as the conversation was dominated by Lyssa and Kiley as they were talking about getting pissed on Friday night in the Catholic Club. When Lyssa is around her friends she tends to put me down more often than usual and it started to piss me off. She doesn’t really put me down but with her words she makes me out to be something I’m not. For example, because Kiley and Lyssa were having their conversation about Friday night I thought to stay out of a topic I had no real conversation for. As the both of them were smoking Lyssa said “You’re not talking much are you.” Then there was the time on the train where Lyssa tried to get to me by saying that I didn’t brush my teeth often when she knew I did. It didn’t bother me that much that she said it because I know it’s not true but the fact she said it in front of Nikita to make herself appear to be better than me or something like that.

Johnnie, Travis and his girlfriend pulled up in a car and as they came up the stairs I left Lyssa and Kiley to have their talk while I spoke with Johnnie and Travis. Travis’s girlfriend walked into the store for a couple of minutes as I told Johnnie I’ve been trying to find him for the past three weeks at the Catholic Club. His plans were busy for those nights but we made a plan for the both of us to be there next Friday, at the Catholic Club. Travis introduced me to his girlfriend who was pretty good taste for him and after ten minutes Lyssa warned me that we should head off to catch our bus. Travis and his girlfriend were heading to the Catholic Club and Johnnie was heading to the movies so with that we said goodbye, Lyssa said her farewell to Kiley and we made our way to the bus stop.
