A Sold Out Night at Penrith Panthers (Part 1) – Mad Chaos: October 20, 1998

The pain of delivering a baby is said to be strong, the will of knowing that you have fallen pregnant is said to be stronger. If that’s true I don’t know but I hope that Lyssa’s premonitions this month if she becomes late are the same as last months. Lyssa likes wearing tampons as opposed to pads these days. Ever since she had to wear one for her last period when her dad was down here she’s never looked back. Lyssa wears G-Strings almost everyday now; they’ve just grown on her. Because of this Lyssa has to wear tampons and she says the distance they have to travel up her is not at all awkward once you get used to it. Girls wearing G-Strings just brings the wild side out in me. It’s just something about girls in G-Strings, it gives them depth of character and liberates them from a life of celibacy and brings them out. When I first knew Lyssa and started going out with her she never had any nice G-Strings. The only things she had close to resembling G-Strings were these stretchy pieces, two of them. Ever since I bought Lyssa her first box of lingerie and a G-String she’s been brought out into the world of seduction and a life less tame. I thank my lucky stars that Lyssa was brought out from being a timid girl hiding her inner self to showing what she truly is, her true self.

From a life of celibacy to a life a little less ordinary, a structured chaotic if you know what I mean, just like me. But far from the cries of traditional horoscope values, tomorrow I have three choices, either be at the beach once again but this time with Shawn, visit the Gym or travel to the City in search of a temping agency right for me. If the weather is hot the beach is the go, if my body has healed fully (which I feel it would) then the Gym is the go and if those two fall through, the City is the go. But once again, far from that, let me explain the happenings of tonight and then I shall start the prized and valuable information of Saturday night and Sunday. Maybe I will even be able to squeeze in a blank verse since it’s been so long but we’ll just have to see how late it gets.

It’s hard to believe that I can make such a simplistic night seem so complicated with the detailed wording of such small happenings. These days I don’t forget much information, even small things like what someone’s shirt read. Then again, it’s hard to believe that as soon as I have written about the night it would almost be impossible for me to come back at a later day and rewrite even half of the detailed information I did. Until I’ve written about my night all that detail is stored within my mind. Only when that detail has been released from my mind and forged within these pages do I give myself the chance to have it discard. That’s why it’s hard for me to remember things from the past that are irrelevant but as soon as I read the words written here I remember everything, weird or not.

Tonight as Keith picked me up nearing 7:30 p.m. we headed for Macarthur Square. Keith’s tinting was done but to me it didn’t really look that dark. That could be due to the fact that Keith has to let them air out for the next two days and as a result of that he can’t wind down his windows for that period. Reaching Macarthur Square we let the car’s turbo cool down before turning it off and then we made our way into the cinema. Reading the list of movies we figured that we wanted to watch ‘A Perfect Murder’ but Keith got impatient and he decided he didn’t want to watch the movie anymore.

Keith was indecisive more than once tonight and I just gather that’s a result of having to tell Tamsen what he feels tomorrow. I know you haven’t heard of it yet but coming back from Penrith Panthers on Saturday night we got to talking about his relationship and how he’s been cheating on Tamsen with Phoenix. Keith then said he needed some space from her and Ralf started feeding Keith information on what to do. Ralf made a lot of sense with what he said and that usually doesn’t happen but as he was speaking to Keith about the right way to inform Tamsen that he wanted some space his ideas were agreeable. Keith agreed that he needed some time away from Tamsen and he decided on Tuesday to tell her that he needs at least two weeks apart as friends. We all know what’s going to happen; Tamsen’s going to take it the wrong way and as they become friends for those two weeks, no sex, no passion, no intimacy, they will grow further apart and never be the same. I can see that Keith wants that time away to find himself and when he does he won’t want to go back.

Anyway, as Keith knew he didn’t want to watch a movie we jumped back into the car and went looking for friends. Our first venture was to Shawn’s house but as soon as we got there Keith drove past and once again his mind wasn’t sticking to any plans. Not wanting to stop at Shawn’s house we noticed his car there but kept driving. Before this we were at Simon’s house but passing his house we noticed both his car and Lucas’s car parked at their house but no lights were on. Our next stop was at Tatton’s house and as we arrived and turned off the car we noticed his bedroom light off but gathered he was watching television. Walking to his front door I rang the doorbell and his sister came to the door and enlightened us on the fact that Tatton was at Shawn’s house. Walking back to Keith’s car I gave Shawn’s house a call and found out that Simon was also there so Keith decided it was now time to head to Shawn’s house.

Upon arriving there we jumped out and were greeted by Shawn in a towel at the front door. Waving us in he stepped back into his house naked apart from the towel and wet from just having a shower. Inside was Simon and Tatton who were both sitting on the couch dispassionate to see us. Tatton was wearing his usual red Hawaii shirt and now he was wearing one of those floppy fisherman’s hats that are round and had a stem all the way around. Tatton’s fashion to say the least is stupid, what’s he trying to do with the hat, seriously, set a trend of imbecility.

Shawn was getting his hair dyed blue by his sister and as he sat down with plastic over his body his sister put on some plastic things over her hands and started on his hair. While that was being accomplished we were watching ‘The Substitute Killers’ which was a pretty good Kung Fu action movie. Keith any Ralf never seem to amaze me with their habits of sleeping in any situation. The both of them are always tired and today like any other day, Keith fell asleep watching the movie, pretty lame. When the movie was finished so was Shawn’s hair but the dye came out and his hair wasn’t fully blue, a bit blotchy. Trying to get some people to come watch a movie at the Cinema with us Simon didn’t want to come because he thought it would be best to get home and Tatton didn’t want to come because he’s weird and likes staying home. Maybe it’s because his mum mothers him and treats him with more respect than his friends do. Shawn on the other hand wanted to come up with us so dropping off Tatton (who by the way wanted to walk, weirdo) Keith and I stopped at Macdonald’s at Rosemeadow waiting for Shawn.

Offering to buy me a burger I purchased a Quarter Pounder and as we both sat down with our meals we indulged in our dinner meals. Before this I hadn’t had much to eat, this was my small dinner but it filled me up pretty good. Soon after Shawn popped in and bought himself something to eat also. When all food had been consumed we jumped in our cars and headed for Macarthur Square. There were two ticket collectors but they weren’t near the doors we wanted to enter. Still, our doors were near the front entrance and as we sat downstairs on the steps that led straight to the doors upstairs we pondered our time of entry. Five minutes past and knowing that the advertisements would have started by now we ran up the stairs and seeing the ticket boys in the far distance we made the short dash for the door and hoped they didn’t notice which they would have. Still, we sat down in the cinema and enjoyed the whole movie without the nuisance of ticker collectors asking for our tickets.

The movie was ‘A Perfect Murder’ and although it had ‘Michael Douglas’ in it (It could be Kirk Douglas, not sure on his name) it was a decent movie with suspense and twists. The movie ended quite suddenly and when all was over we made our way to the cars feeling a bit cheated but not caring as we didn’t pay a cent. Starting the cars we made our way to Ampol on Blaxland Road and once there Keith filled up on petrol as I walked to Shawn’s car. Listening to ‘DJ Rectangle’ we were just being sarcastic with our words and as Keith came over he basically said that it was time to go home. Shawn informed us that Simon invited us over if we had nothing to do and tempting Keith’s mind he decided it was worth the visit. Jumping back into Keith’s car we made our venture but as soon as we arrived at Simon’s house he changed his mind once again. Jumping out of Keith’s car he headed off home but I stuck around with Shawn.
