Jett Turns Up With Min-Su
Hopping off the train at Campbelltown and heading home, I began writing in my memoirs write until the point that Jett turned up at 7:45 p.m. The only oddity of the situation was that Min-Su had come along to which I had no problem with but had to get accustomed as it had come as an unexpected shock.
Sitting ourselves down as we geared up for the Football show at 8:30 p.m., I felt a touch intimidated to be wearing my club clothes, thinking that Min-Su felt uncomfortable around me, probably thinking that Jett was thinking envious thoughts. Handling the situation well, with Min-Su there we seemed to be pushing it for due conversation as we broke out the photos and then started chatting on about her birthday coming up this weekend.
Keith Rings Twice
Before the game began there were two occurrences worth noting. Shedding some despair on Keith’s life, I was surprised to receive a phone call, finding out that it was Keith on the other line. “What are you doing tonight man” he asked me with a sense of persistency as I noted that I would be watching the Football and then maybe going out with Tyler and Nero at the end of the night. Knowing he was speaking as a desperate man he uttered “I’m desperate to come out tonight even if you just go to Chevy’s”, pledging that he would go out if it was only me and him.
That is as fat a chance as his ever losing some weight on a dieting program. Continually after my conversation I would comment to Jett how much I despised Keith now and how it’s taken everyone else until now (And some still learning) to finally catch up to my disowning ways. Later that night Keith called me again to which I noted that I wasn’t going out at all and to that was a dying tribute to perseverance.
The Fried Rice Run
The second occurrence came minutes before the game started. Jett and Min-Su had the idea of ringing up and ordering Pizza but I soon changed their minds, enticing them with the idea of buying Chinese Fried Rice. Min-Su seemed so glum, lying on my bed in her own world of doldrums. Jett seemed to know what was going on and I was just thinking it had something to do with the way I was dressed but having never seen Jett and Min-Su even look like arguing, the boys headed down to Bradbury shops while Min-Su stayed behind at my house to chill out.
On our way to Bradbury shops Jett noted how Min-Su’s parents were giving her an ultimatum, to either move out of the house because she wants to have space to live with Jett in the future or stay with her mum. Min-Su was given until after her party to decide what she wanted to do with her life, all this from her chatting with her mum about the future and her obviously taking it personally.
Ordering At Bradbury
Noting to Jett that the chick behind the counter at the Chinese Food Store in Bradbury Shops was my kind of woman, we headed there with an open mind and received a flourishing date of remembrance. In heading, I would note that we called up prior to walking down to which we ordered our food. Knowing that she was the girl on the phone, I handed over my phone number and last name, little helpful hands if she’d ever want to jot down that number.
To cut a long story short, when finally arriving there she already knew which order would be ours, a good sign. Handing it over the counter, she tallied up the price for three meals to be somewhere around $17.40 and as Jett handed over a $50 bill I butted in just as she was about to sum up our change exclaiming “Hey, hey, can you please make one of those dishes a separate order”.
Confused About The Change
Gracing me with a smile as Jett told me not to worry about it, my persistency was in turn the downfall of all our confusion. With an extra $10 handed in from me, she sat there like a stunned mullet for a couple of seconds and smiling as a red face started to emanate she remarked “Alright, I’m confused now”.
Pleased to see she was still playful in words, Jett and I tried to figure out what change we would get back but in the end I just noted “Don’t worry, just count it up as normal, we’ll figure it out later”. Doing just as I’d asked and forgetting the ten dollars I had handed to her which she’d placed in the till, she gave Jett the change from his fifty minus five dollars she handed to me, supposed change from my ten dollars.
Walking out of the Chinese store which definitely would have left an impression and a door open for our next conversation to build upon, Jett stopped me counting his money, knowing something was amiss when nearing the supermarket. Confused as he counted his change, he uttered “Wait a minute we gave her this much, she gave you five dollars back and me twenty five”. Confused, I decided it wouldn’t be a great idea to bother her at the shop again which would make her look bad so I tried sorting out the shortchanged problem out of her sight.
Jett seemed to be out of pocket with fifteen dollars and after I gave him back five dollars out of good will, he still looked a bit dazed. Not only had I given him back five dollars from the ten I gave away over the counter but to please Jett’s confusion I handed him a further ten dollars which put him around forty dollars. Jett still looked confused but I failed to see how I had just lost out on twenty dollars from a ten dollar mistake.
Vienetta And A Lost Wallet
Nonetheless, we headed into the supermarket to buy Vienetta Ice-cream and heading back home shedding our confusion upon the money, I kept noting how she had beautiful eyes and an amazing smile that just released all your tensions in life. Jett getting all his money back didn’t matter in the long run as he ended up losing his wallet overnight. So that money that I wasted giving back to him for good measure (Being partly my fault we lost that money), it would have been better with foresight if I’d kept the money and his so that we could still be rolling in dough right now.
Football Night Ends
There’s not much else to note of Friday night other than to say that Brisbane ended up kicking Canterbury’s ass. Well, the ending tally was two points but the matter of times I danced in front of Jett’s face making him bury his head inside a pillow was duly high. Tyler was supposed to come over for the night but as he rang me late in the night and found that I didn’t have a Playstation, he was heading home. Our plans to at least head to the Catholic Club or Chevy’s had crumbled because Tyler didn’t feel like it.
However, I didn’t know until the next day that Tyler had finally sold his rust bomb for $800 and having no car, we couldn’t really do anything anyway. With the game finishing, Jett and Min-Su lay on my waterbed almost falling asleep when finally they called a taxi and headed home together. A fitting ending to a fitting night, I kept myself awake for a touch longer that night and then got some earlier sleep upon my weekend for the long Saturday ahead of me.
Goodbye August
Well, well, if we haven’t come up to the end of this month already. Tributes have been set or short-pared because of tense times of durable typing. The time is now 10:50 p.m. and with an hour and a touch left until next month and a new season of spring, I shall not talk more jargon of hopes, expectancies or foresight.
Rather, I will leave this month untainted of wishful thinking and leave it all up to my promising roll on life to allow it unfold. As for the last days of this month beginning from Saturday and arriving to tonight, they shall be shed in those earlier days upon September, only four months away from a new year and five from my 21st birthday. Anyway, it is time for me to head off, until best we meet again…
