A Late Call From Lyssa

Such a link of the mind, a mental bond, shared with a true companion of old, Lyssa. Last night I got myself to sleep at midnight, having watched ‘The Holy Man’, not laughing once. Watching ‘The Mick Molloy Show’ after that I finally got myself to sleep at midnight.

Somehow, when I went to sleep I knew that Lyssa would answer my dreams and prayers in some way or another and the depression felt before the both of us talked would be resolved. 2:00 a.m. arrived in the early morning and in my slumber I quickly woke to the phone ringing. Conjunctivitis had my eyes stick together slightly but able to burrow around, I found the phone after one ring. Knowing exactly who it would be, I said hello convincingly awake and chatted with Lyssa thereafter.

Like noted, Lyssa and I are so mentally balanced when it comes to telepathy and the sixth sense. Lyssa seems to know exactly how I’m feeling and exactly what I want as when I do become depressed or think upon her, coincidence has her calling me that same day or hour. Therefore, I don’t believe all these connections to be a coincidence, there is something beyond our perceptive flesh, much more telepathic than existent. “Hi” Lyssa whispered, beginning the penetration into such coincidences. Having not mentioned my plea for Lyssa to stay over on Sunday night, she made my heart at ease when she asked me to stay over for the night.

Basically, her mum had gone out for the whole night and Lyssa was too scared to catch a taxi to my house at such a late time. Despite my being asleep for the past two hours I wholeheartedly picked myself up out of bed and advised Lyssa that I would be readying myself soon enough. Nevertheless, as Lyssa coaxed me into heading to her house by pledging to pay for the taxi fare, this sounded like a good deal but one that would always fall through.

Taxi In The Cold

Once off the phone with Lyssa I closed my curtains, walked naked to turn on the light and stepping around all the mess, I started getting ready. Deciding to put on the ensemble I had worn down to the shops because it was the closest thing around and I wanted to wear it out the next day, I donned myself with such excessiveness and called the taxi company.

Not knowing the number, I called Lyssa once and then again minutes later to see if she wanted me to bring my rented movie over. That would not be the case however as we were most probably just going to get straight to sleep and as I put my shoes on and grabbed my wallet, I waited patiently for the cab. Minutes later, the cab showed up, shining a flood light up my driveway as I closed my front door and headed towards the front passenger door.

The winds were cold and glad to be in the car, I bid the taxi driver head the Ruse direction to Lyssa’s house. Wearing my purple lens glasses also as to detract from my red and puffy eyes, I watched the meter as it grew comfortably to my expectations. Once at Lyssa’s house I paid $11.60 and jumping out, I headed to Lyssa’s front door and knocked.

Catching Up By The Heater

Opening the door in the clothes she went out in, Lyssa asked “Why are you so dressed up for”. Noting that it was more casual than dress (Being Smart-Casual), we made our way to the heater in the television room. Grabbing it towards me Lyssa argued “Hey, that’s for both of us you know” in which I moved it back around playfully. Lyssa was playing ‘Patience’ the card game before I arrived and as we both sat in front of the television, we chatted away about her night.

Asking the important question “Have you told Naqi how I don’t want to befriend him” she looked sadly towards the ground and replied “Not yet, he was already angry and I didn’t want to make it worse”. Delving into the situation, I found that Naqi wasn’t talking to anyone for the whole night. It ended up being Lyssa, Penelope, Naqi, Nikita and Janice who headed to the movies, basically everyone who was at the Catholic Club and Chevy’s.

Speaking of both those locations, Lyssa advised me that she felt like everyone was looking at her and Penelope for the whole night. The five of them were taking shots of whiskey all night at the Catholic Club (Including Constantine) and Lyssa felt like everyone was looking at them, probably because of their Barbie Doll look. Lyssa also mentioned some more factors about Chevy’s and how once again, everyone seemed to have their eyes on them all night.

Mentioning that it was dominantly males at Chevy’s on Friday night, Lyssa told me how guys kept walking up and chatting to her. First, there was the bouncer who walked up to Lyssa and sitting with her, basically tried to betroth her. Mentioning that she had a boyfriend, the guy asked “Alright, you just make sure that when you dump him you come and see me”. Thinking that he was a loser, Lyssa changed her tune when he came back with a pink rose, something Lyssa still had at her house.

There was some other guy that came up and gave Lyssa a friendly kiss on the cheek. He knew her more than she knew the guy as she remembers his face but not his name. There they sat chatting away for a little while, Lyssa feeling complacent with the premise that all eyes were on her. Noting that I had seen her at one stage talking to some guy with a almost shaved blonde head, she couldn’t seem to remember such a person.

Sleeping On The Mattress

Soon enough, Lyssa decided it was time to sleep and bed arrangements were the question. As Lyssa asked where I wanted to sleep, I casually noted “Let’s just sleep in your mum’s room”. Making it easy on us to agree that we wanted to sleep in the same area Lyssa noted that she was still angry with her mum so it was now a toss up between her bedroom and her brother’s room.

Taking a glance at Lyssa’s room, it looked like an atomic bomb had hit it. Nothing but clothes and a mess on the floor, you couldn’t even see the floor. I wonder if Lyssa ever gets the time to vacuum her room because she never gets to see the floor. Anyway, taking off my shoes and placing my wallet on her cabinet, we decided to clear some way in Lyssa’s bedroom.

Having a mattress on the floor and covering both the mattress and her bed with loads of blankets, we set ourselves down to sleep. Caring not to catch my cold, Lyssa asked that I sleep on the mattress next to her bed which didn’t bother me that much. However, as the light was turned off, I asked if I could warm up with Lyssa first before jumping back onto the mattress but she resisted that request because she was serious about not catching my flu.

Pillow Talk About Ivan

For the next half an hour Lyssa and I chatted away in which she started off conversation with “So, are you still depressed from earlier today”. Lyssa was my cure for loneliness and that’s the only reason I started to feel better from the onset of her answering my plea to talk. Stunned I still am that Lyssa’s mum had the decency to note that I called as she seemed shocked when she asked who was speaking.

The only thing that brought me to the reality of my sleeping on the mattress was when Lyssa, out of the blue started getting excited about Ivan. “I’m so happy” she said in a thrilled gesture, “Ivan is going to call me tomorrow”. Delving deeper, I found out that Ivan was speaking to Sonya for the night, acquiring Lyssa’s number so that he would call her either today or some time in the future.

Lyssa must think he’s good looking but then again, Lyssa always gets this excited when some new guy starts to like her. However, I felt some satisfaction when Lyssa noted that she would never go out with him. Adhering to the psychics foretold future, she can only flirt for the next four to eight years, something which Lyssa told me she was good at. Curious as to how Lyssa flirted, she explained that she just gave out funny little smiles to guys she liked and the like which made the guys go chase her.

Half an hour into our conversation I asked “Are you getting tired now” in which Lyssa replied “Kind of”. Resting my eyes and voice for the next thirty seconds, I asked Lyssa another question in which her slumbering voice made her speak “Oh it’s you, I thought one of my classmates was speaking”. “You’re not awake are you” I asked, knowing that Lyssa quickly fell into a light sleep and dream. Lyssa gargled on about nothing for the next sentence and from that the both of us went to sleep.

Waking Up Slowly

I remember at one stage of the night Lyssa just broke out into some more talking in her sleep to which I can’t remember. Early in the morning, the both of us woke up but figuring it was only 8:00 a.m., we went back to sleep. For the next two hours we comfortably slept and my thinking that Lyssa and I hadn’t touched for the whole night was playing on my mind. Answering me telepathically, Lyssa sifted her hand through my hair and rubbed it for a couple of seconds before the both of us woke up.

Still sleepy herself, I finally decided to wake up and check what time it was. Heading into the kitchen and worried that Lyssa’s mum would come home soon and see what she would have thought was a mistake, I grabbed a mandarin and headed back to Lyssa’s room. The time was 10:30 a.m. and as I had my mandarin to eat I tried chatting to Lyssa. On occasion, I would pull back the thicket of blankets and duvets over her face, keeping it warm but suffocating it at the same time.

As per usual, Lyssa looked cute in her sleep, moaning playfully and pulling her head back under the covers whilst I pulled them down. Lyssa was too tired to respond and after getting twenty more minutes of rest, I thought it was time to head home. Having a partial day planned ahead of me, I wanted to secure my weekly train ticket and then head back home to type on this for the remainder of the day.

The Taxi Money Problem

Grabbing a banana from the kitchen and walking back into Lyssa’s television room, I flicked through Lyssa’s photo album again as I watched television. Lyssa sought to show me the new photos from Coogee Bay Hotel, when she met up with that Canadian guy. The pictures were sparse to my liking and compared to all of Lyssa’s other pictures, they didn’t look as sparklingly happy as in other lots of photos. Closing a chapter of Lyssa’s life, my thoughts were upon the money that Lyssa told me she would give to me for the taxi.

Upon arriving at Lyssa’s house, I didn’t say nothing about the taxi money until well into our conversation, just popping it up. “Yeah, I have the money for you” Lyssa replied but Lyssa went to sleep soon after and I never got to see it. Making it all the more hard for me to ask for it in the morning, my mind was pacing around. However, the money wasn’t too important despite it restricting my visits to the Gym and next weekend. When it comes to money, Lyssa never relents to handing it over. Lyssa is the Queen of naiveté when it comes to money and she will act dumb as not to hand it over.

Money wasn’t important, however, I had a simple plan that would make the both of us happy. Brimming with satisfaction in having stayed over Lyssa’s house, I wanted her to stay over at my house tonight as per my plans. Two nights did seem a bit awkward and pushy but figuring Lyssa could use the money she was supposed to give back to me for a taxi in which I would be shouting her over, it would turn out to be even.

Now my only problem was heading into that bedroom and wording it right. Making my way into Lyssa’s bedroom, I knelt by her bed and informed her that I was leaving. “No” she squealed, “Stay another ten minutes”. Unable to resist, I rugged up with her in the same bed as she moved her hips backwards and placed them firmly on my forward leg. Taking the liberty of timing, I asked Lyssa if she could do me a favor like I had done for her that night, sleep over my house.

Sounding a bit curious as to the need of a second night she asked the reason speculatively as I replied “I think it would be good”. Lyssa told me she would consider it and as I told her I would give her a call later in the night, it was time for me to head off. “Thanks for staying over last night” she relished and as I jumped up with my ‘Guess’ shoes firmly intact, I headed for the front door.

Thoughts On Kissing

Just a spin-off to the regularity of chronology. Last night at one tiny fraction of time I remembered how I hadn’t kissed anyone (Apart from Phoenix which doesn’t count) since breaking up with Lyssa. What’s more, I remembered how Lyssa and I stopped kissing late into our relationship where it became a sporadic occasion. Lyssa and I haven’t touched lips for so long let alone use tongue and I just wondered, how weird and unnatural would the feeling be if it were to happen.

Kissing Lyssa just wouldn’t feel right anymore and to tell you the truth, the thought of kissing with tongue just doesn’t have the effect that it used to grant me back in the day. Kissing to me is now just a cliché to me in a relationship. Love is not expressed with a tongue and I would rather kiss just lips or anywhere else on the body to show my gratitude for life’s little bonuses.

Another quickly agreeing cliché would be sex, too commonly used. People say that after a while, sex isn’t all its cracked out to be and I would tend to say the same thing now. However, oral sex will always rule in my mind, that is, as long as the woman is enjoying herself, knowing she’ll get hers…
