Footy and a Window Knock
This continuance of chronology evolved much hours until I finally concluded at 4:00 p.m. to begin watching Football, one of the better games I’ve seen this year. There were so many magic moments but my favorite was when St. Imad scored an interception to run 95 meters for a touchdown. My favorite part of that touchdown was how the winger came from the opposite side of the field to tackle the culprit and in a desperate run, he finally caught up to ankle tap him.
This sent him in a spinning hurtle but after all this he held on dearly and scored a try. What magical memories it would have been had the winger caught up to him and then wrapped him up over the try line, holding him up in goal with a one on one tackle. You could also hear the promo music playing in the background as the slow motion replay came on, such magnificence. Anyway, as Jett told me on the bus, he would come over later in the day and pay me a visit and rightly, he lived up to his word.
Lying on my bed with only a pair of pants on and the blanket covering what would have otherwise been mildly cold, I heard a knock on my window and looking outside, knew it only to be one individual. Jumping out of the bed I headed over to let Jett in, aware that my computer still had these pages in view but the screen saver was in effect.
News About Imad and Naqi
Jett sat himself down on the blanket that is covering my carpet from further stains and for the next fifteen minutes we watched the Football and chatted mildly about a bunch of topics. Just to speak of conversation with less significance, I mentioned to Jett that Imad was now living by himself in the flats on Jacaranda. For the past couple of days I’ve thought it would be a good idea for Jett to move in if Imad ever wanted company because the both of them got along famously.
In this breeze upon subjects Jett also thought to inform me that Naqi was also getting kicked out of home. “Why is that” I asked inquisitively and with some complacency about me. “His parents are going to kick him out soon” he answered, unsure of the real reason. As we delved a little further I found out that Jett caught the train with Naqi towards the City in the mornings on occasion.
When Jett has to catch the train at 5:00 a.m. he usually bumps into Naqi who catches it at the same time. Sounding as if he held no resentment to Naqi, he talked candidly, putting aside the differences that the both of us would have. Jett, it’s good to see he never gets himself in the middle of other people’s problems. He sees the both of us as friends, why should he treat Naqi with less friendship just because I don’t appreciate Naqi.
A Lineup and an Engagement
Other minorities of conversation continued as Jett started reading through FHM and while looking at a survey he noted that he too was in a police lineup. Quizzical as that sounded Jett explained that he was asked to join a police lineup back when he was going out with Caitlin because an officer thought he robbed a service station. There you go, some more important history for your ass and something that would never have been documented as didn’t start fluency in my prose until after my relationship with Clover.
Jett also noted about a hilarious caper in which his brother got engaged last night to his high-school sweetheart, one that Jett thinks is a little overweight. “He’s pussy whipped” Jett noted, a phrase that if mentioned of me would have aggravation looming from popping veins. Unusually, while the family was sitting around and chatting at this ceremonial night the father noted that they can have sex before marriage and the mother was arguing “No, you’ll have to wait until after marriage”.
Condoms in the Car
Of course, they’re both having sex right now and Jett with his madcap humor decided to pull a prank. Asking Kurt if he could borrow his box of condoms he then walked up to Fred and inconspicuously asked if he could check out the interior of his new car. Acquiring the keys to the car he opened up ten or more condom packets which were flavored, glow in the dark and all sorts of other weird combinations.
Spreading them all throughout the car, on the seats, the dashboard and one on the muffler, he walked back to the party unobserved. Within the next few minutes all you could hear was Fred screaming out “JOSH” whilst springing open his car door. The joke was on Fred as the light in his car revealed the condom infested interior to the whole group at the party, a Kodak moment indeed.
Calling the Caller Back
There was a third comical caper that Jett endured over the weekend. This begins at Min-Su’s house with her mobile phone ringing. Jett decided to pick it up and as some guy asked “Is Daffa there” in a Lebanese voice Jett decided to be a smart ass. “Nope, Daffa’s not here” Jett remarked and as the guy asked one question too many Jett decided to add some raillery into the situation. “Who are you” the guy asked as Jett replied “I’m your mum”.
You could appreciate the silence and then the outburst that this would have created but Jett countered that by hanging up the phone. Seconds later the guy called back up and with his choleric rage stepping up he asked “Why are you being a smart ass for”. Jett answered again to his amusement and kept making fun of the guy. Whilst the guy would ask “Who’s this” Jett would quickly reply “It’s your mum, who’s this” and then it would continually repeat as Jett would sound like a parakeet, mimicking the guy’s words a millisecond after they were spoken.
Slurring his words and sounding insipid in tone Jett really took it out of the Leb guy who started shouting things like “Wait till I find out your number, I’m going to come over your house and kill you”. A classic reply only of Jett’s caliber was to reply “What, you’re going to shoot me with a dart gun” which of course pissed the guy off more. Jett hung up the phone on him again saying that he had to go to watch a movie with his girlfriend, making sure to write down the number that appeared on Min-Su’s display box.
Minutes later Jett called back the Lebanese guy who was somewhat oblivious to his being called. “Who’s this” the Leb asked upon Jett greeting him. “It’s your mum” he growled back as the Leb broke out into another fit, cut short by Jett hanging up as he wanted to watch a movie. Jett was at the movies when all this was happening and when Min-Su and him finally came out there were 30 missed calls on Min-Su’s mobile phone, pretty persistent choler.
The fun didn’t end there as Jett got back home and decided to give the Lebanese guy one last call, at 1:00 a.m. in the morning. Mumbling as if he had just woken up from a deep slumber, the Lebanese guy stumblingly said hello and Jett replied in a big walloping voice “How do you like it”. The Leb spurted out some more grease from his lips as he continued to preach his bid to kill Jett if he ever found out where he lived and in Jett’s true style, he hung up on him mid conversation. If you don’t think that’s comedy, then what is…
