Osama Versus Tatton
Walking slightly up George Street our new dilemma was finding somewhere to eat. Osama and Pari still had no opinion and decided to stay reserved to our thoughts. Sometimes I can’t figure Osama out, his attitude, how he is strict with being pure to his tradition of being Muslim. It would be unjust to say that Osama is just like Tatton in attitude because Tatton is filthy compared to the congenial nature of Osama. More likely, Tatton is very much an introvert around women, just like Osama, they both are realistic loners in their own rights and both are intelligent.
However, on the bottom of the scale, Tatton dresses streetwise and grubby compared to the in-style Osama, Osama has much more class than Tatton and despite their being similar, Osama’s attitude automatically puts him way above the standard of Tatton’s congeniality. So, to say that Osama is like Tatton in mind and action is not too far off but to say that such statement couldn’t be further from the truth in respect to perspective.
Awkward Lebanese Restaurant
Getting back to my story now… After much deliberation we decided to head to a Lebanese Restaurant called Ali Babe or something of that resemblance on George Street. Having the opportunity of taking the food away or taking a seat in the restaurant we somehow decided to take a seat. Once seated we didn’t know why the hell we sat down and looking at the menus and finding that the food was rather costly Osama’s cousin and Mohammed were making a strong argument to leave.
Nevertheless, they added that it would look cheap and demeaning if they just walked out so after some more deliberation it was found that we would indeed order something from the menu. Osama and his cousin went to the toilet as ordering was taking place and in this time I got to chat with Mohammed who reminded me a little of Mark Philippoussis. “Yeah, I get that all the time” he answered as I tried to sneak in my feeling of his resemblance.
For a little while we chatted about working out where he asked me how much times a week I worked out and various other questions. I felt that he should have been asking Pari these questions and tried to connect my answers with knowledge that Pari also worked out so he wouldn’t feel like me when the award for ‘Person who visits the Gym the most’ at Airds High School was awarded to Corin and Arnold, damn cool kids.
Through the night he did embark upon that same topic with me and I just thought it was because of the black Hound Dog shirt I was wearing, it showed off what muscle I did have.
The Tempting Waitress
With Osama and his cousin heading back from the toilet the waitress came over for the third time for our order. With a patient smile on her face she stood right beside me and Osama, so close that I could have bitten her ass and was tempted whilst she tempted me with her appetizing thighs. Fighting back the urge as the others had also seen my same fascination they all ordered either a Taco or something similar, rolled in Lebanese Bread.
Despite Osama opting to pay for me I didn’t invite myself to a meal but not to sound as prude and reserved as both of them I ordered an orange juice. With the food coming out they all ate as I enjoyed my drink but I found myself dipping into the tabbouleh of Osama’s unselfish and insistent cousin. Mohammed kept coming up with humorous ways of escaping the bill and he kept protesting to the price of the food.
Osama Tricks the Table
Osama in passing offered to pay but of course, Mohammed or Osama’s cousin didn’t want to hear such answers for their grumblings. Before the bill could be paid Osama uttered “I’m just going to get a coffee” and as I looked over to the register some minutes later I noticed him handing over a sizeable amount of money, like what we had to pay. Informing the others they too had noticed that Osama had tricked us into thinking he was ordering a coffee when he was indeed paying the bill.
Mohammed and Osama’s cousin both sighed to his generous gesture and I too could see their frustration of having wanted to pay but in fact, have been so sold short of their bids. The reason I only bought a drink was so that I could pay for it out of the little money that I had but unfortunately for our pride, Osama did pay for it.
Having paid for the bill there was slight argument as to paying Osama back but as money was placed on the table Osama wouldn’t accept it. “Either take your money back or leave it here on the table” Osama instructed and of course, as all men are, money is too important to just leave behind so his cousin pocketed his money resentfully. The plan to give Osama his deserved money was brewing and in the end, they left the money as they had planned, in Osama’s car.
Plans on George Street
Heading out of the Restaurant Osama was approached by a blonde chick around our age who got into his face and said something like “I want you right now”. Osama of course being too unbending to compliment just smiled and kept walking. Nevertheless, as we looked back to what Osama had missed out on (A lay which with her blonde locks would have been proud to award) we noticed she was doing it to many a selective few that walked past her.
Therefore, Osama’s tune changed to the beautiful waitress inside that wasn’t serving us but was walking around. Speaking with his cousin he wanted his cousin to walk in there and ask her out for Osama but he uttered “We’re not in High School anymore”. With that I thought it was a good smooth idea when he added “Listen, give me your phone, I’ll hand it to her and say someone wants to speak to you in a minute”.
Delicate, smart, intelligible, nice, I think I like the approach of that idea. However, despite the quarter of an hour we stood out the front listening to Osama and his cousin devising a plan to win her heart it was becoming more and more hopeless. Finally we realized that our night in the city was hopeless and going nowhere. There wasn’t much to do as Osama or Pari didn’t look like they wanted to explore a nightclub so with Mohammed’s wish, we ended up walking back to the car.
Driving Back Home
When finally finding the car I jumped in the back but this time around I was ushered with a polite gesture to take the side and more comfortable seat. This didn’t bother me at all as Osama drove his usual naïve and reckless style back home. On the way Osama was pulled over for a random breath test but of course, he had no alcohol in his body, only carbonated drink and if bubbling water was a crime to drink, he would be jailed for the night.
Heading back to where Osama’s cousin lived we dropped them off at their car, shook their hands, fared them well and then headed off. Osama seemed a tad pissed off at the conclusion of the night but all I could think of was the CD we were listening to and how Osama’s cousin brought it along for the ride. Within seconds of leaving Osama was called up and asked if he could return the CD in which he did. Leaving again we were halfway home when Osama received another call from his cousin.
At full I didn’t understand the conversation but I soon made sense of his facial gestures and the reason why his cousin was sifting through his wallet when sitting in the back. It turned out that Osama’s cousin had placed money in the glove-box when jumping out of the car, more than was enough for their share of the meal. Osama looked pissed off at this event and for the rest of the way home had a distracted look. Being dropped off at home soon after the time was near 1:00 a.m. For the next half an hour I had something to eat, watched television, read some Shakespeare and then quickly got myself to sleep.
Ending the Night
With my night over, my day had just as quickly begun on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Now, because the time is 1:10 a.m. and I am feeling rather lethargic and worn down from this typing I will retire to my bed soon. For that reason I shall talk of the eventful events of tonight at a more convenient time, say tomorrow. Despite my being in such a depictive mood right now in which description writes eminently, I must attend to my better judgment and that is of sleep. Therefore, my day, where Jett visited twice, once with Min-Su, the collapse of Keith’s empire and the return of my old vice, I shall them explain forthwith when best meets me.
