A dusty round smoke detector on top of an old wardrobe

Trying to Sleep Early

Defying all odds, I have created a path to take myself a step forward away from setbacks and towards the commodity of accomplishment. Last night like I had noted I got myself to sleep at 1:00 a.m. but as I gathered, I had a very hard time getting to sleep. From the moment go I wasn’t comfortable with getting to sleep so early, I was unaccustomed to it.

Tossing and turning on the waterbed I decided to try my luck on the colder floor. This turned out to be a bit more comfortable but it didn’t have the relaxants that the waterbed did. Kicking my feet in the air, jumping up to head for the toilet and heading upstairs caused for a stressful night.

A Chirping Smoke Detector

I had a plan to try the spare room upstairs for a second time and in desperate need of some good sleep I made my way there. Once there at 4:30 a.m. I set my clock on the window sill but sleep was hard to come by again because of an annoying tweeting sound.

At first I thought it was a bird and as I jumped up to examine where the noise was coming from I thought it was within the wardrobe. The chirping was coming steadily and about every thirty seconds and I knew I couldn’t sleep properly with this distraction. Opening up the cupboard and expecting a baby bird to start chirping like crazy I was mistaken.

Looking on top of the cupboard I didn’t notice anything alive but I did notice a round plastic thing that looked like a smoke detector. When good stories come to an end you will realize that the beeping noise was coming from the smoke detector. Wondering how long it could have been up there I figure it would have been from after bill moved which would be over two years ago now.

How my parents are so intimidated by him that they try not to scathe his room thinking that he will come back one day, remember a smoke detector missing in his room and start attacking them with a machete. It wasn’t until 6:00 a.m. that I got to sleep and setting the alarm for 10:00 a.m. I didn’t have any trouble waking up to my alarm.

Keith at My Front Gate

Now before I speak of my day and with these rapidly typing fingers eager to speak thoughts, let me do just that with my oily mobility in words. Last night just before I was going to get to sleep and before midnight Keith drove to the front of my house in his car. Revving as if he wanted me to come out I knew that he would have the separation certificate that would help me out in my bid to get money back so I put on some clothes and made my way out there.

Making my way down the driveway he held out a little folded up piece of paper and taking it out of his hands I knew that my misfortune was just building up. Let me say an important truth about Keith.

When it comes to favors asked of him he can never pull together a good package but when it comes to him asking people favors he always wants the best deal. Without too much ado Keith left in his car as soon as the paper was in my hand. He didn’t really want to talk and was moreover running away from obligation.

Firstly, Keith was supposed to bring me three forged separation certificates so I could pick out the better one but he decided to bring me just one. Bringing it home and reading it I found that it wasn’t on his work’s letterhead like he had told me, it wasn’t stamped with the work’s seal, he didn’t date my cease of employment and he even went to the extreme of covering his ass by using a ridiculous name.

Keith Looks After Himself

There’s something I’ve learnt from Keith through my association with him and that’s a simple truth, he only looks after his own ass. Keith only does what’s in the best interest for himself and he would look after himself before he does for anyone else.

I should have known better than to put trust in Keith for the writing of a separation certificate but when he told me it would be easy and that he had all that was required I trusted him. Keith knows that there is no possibility that CES is going to call him to confirm I worked there for a day or two and even if they did he wouldn’t get sacked over it.

As usual, Keith dogged me in order to protect his own ass and instead of writing me a decent separation certificate he wrote me something that even a gullible person would see as problematic. Actually I think the name he signed who is Warwick is probably someone that works there but Keith wants to get sacked. Once again, if this is true it’s a classic case of Keith looking after his own ass and not caring about who else goes down in the process.

If there was ever a folk tale made of Keith it would be the opposite of the King that turns things to gold. Instead, Keith is the King that turns things to shit by the touch of a finger.

Like I listened to Keith who told me I should take my shirt off and impress the stripper I done so and almost got into a fight because of his thoughts and words in my mouth. There would be millions of cases I could suggest not including myself but let’s just leave it down to his useless separation certificate attempt.

Withdrawal From Lyssa

Changing the topic to the drama of trying to get to sleep last night, the times that I couldn’t get to sleep I had much thought in my mind. Partly it was about poetry that kept circulating, some was about the lost years Poetry, fragments of Jewell and then a moderate amount on Lyssa. I have to face the fact in my Diary that I’m suffering from the equal of withdrawal symptoms from Lyssa.

Since her last call I have been wondering if she will be calling me the next day. If I go out the first question when I come home is if someone had called me and the thoughts in my mind on the way home are if Lyssa had indeed tried to call. Breaking up was hard but breaking apart from each other is now beginning to take its toll. Distraught I am not but I am anxious at nights, I feel lonely at times and I feel a part of me is empty.

When I walked around in Campbelltown I had seen so many beautiful women and hoped that one day I would be able to find my groove and get someone that will treat me how I want to be treated. Confidence is lacking and as I have lost a groove so good and convincing I now want to get it back and flock to the calls of love that lie in the wake.

Misty Moo in the Dark

Last night I couldn’t get to sleep because of all these thoughts in my mind but one thought was beginning to soothe it. Remembering the CD that I sent to Lyssa I then realized that Misty Moo was in the room and grabbing him in the dark I sat him in my arms as I lay on the waterbed.

This did relax me somewhat and as I held it close in my curled arms it reminded me of Lyssa cuddling her head in my arms and me having my arms around her acting as the protector. I remember the little faces she would pull when she was sleeping and that one time that she slept with Misty Moo and when I pulled it away from her she reacted by crying out for her Misty Moo.

Although Lyssa was dead asleep she had enough sense to remember the little cuddly cow she gave to me as a present and has remained a memento of our relationship. Comfortable as I felt it didn’t make me sleep as easily as if Lyssa was right next to me so I made my way to the spare room and there I did carry the little cow to keep me company.

Poetry Before Bed

Idle thoughts kept passing through my mind and as I thought it would help me ease my mind and get to sleep I turned on the computer. Jotting down some thoughts of poetry I knew that if I kept going I probably would have written a great Sonnet because I had the juices flowing. However, sleeping and this new employment was vital to my future so as soon as thoughts were written down I turned off the computer.

Poetry will not come alive tonight as I am already starting to get tired due to my four hours of sleep. This was a good little strategy that will be capable of making me sleep comfortably tonight. My plan is now to get to sleep at around 9:30 p.m. to wake up just before 6:00 a.m. If this can be achieved then I am certain to start working tomorrow. A one and a half year drought of workless days, it is a long time…
