A Harsh Toothbrush Confession

Just thought I’d note that I bought a new toothpaste and toothbrush with Monday’s pay. The toothbrush has hard bristles and because it is so harsh on my gums it has made them hurt a little but not bleed. Along with the whitening toothpaste that eats away once again at my mouth’s skin I would say it was self mutilation, but I guess that’s the price you pay for embellishment of one’s own beauty.

All you analysts out there that are collating information of how I once lived, you would probably say that the act of buying this whitening toothpaste was for self-esteem reasons but you would be wrong. Actually, I was buying them to make my teeth whiter and in the long run that will make me more pleasing to the opposite sex and more appealing in general so you make the decision of where to take this issue.

Off to the City

Beginning now with Monday I had myself a good night’s sleep and when 9:30 a.m. arrived the alarm woke me up. Immediate wasn’t my reaction and lying in bed for another fifteen minutes I received a wake up call from Lyssa. Gathering that I wouldn’t make it in time to have lunch with her Lyssa was alright but she was just ringing to wish me luck and to see if I was headed for the City.

For an hour I had something to eat, showered and then started to prepare myself by putting on my electric blue work shirt and dark blue pants. Putting my hair back and pocketing all the information I needed I asked my dad for a lift to the station and I received one.

Thanking dad for the lift I walked to the ticket machine hoping that it would be open for all tickets but I was to be deceived. Thus, I had to travel to Leumeah and jumping off the train I noticed the ticket machine was the same so I quickly jumped back on before the doors closed.

Knowing that Glenfield was my last chance of getting a cheaper ticket I hitched a ride all the way to there and once there I was happy to see that the ticket machine was open. Catching the next train all the way into the City I didn’t really have anyone to look at in the train but I had something of interest.

Hunting for Temping Agencies

Jumping off at Town Hall I wasn’t sure how the numbers ran on the streets so the middle of the City was my best bet of starting off. Trying to find the first temping agency along Imad street I had to walk almost ten minutes to find it, lucky I wore the suede type boots instead of the polished ones that hurt the back of my heel. Not to glamorize my trip to the City too much or broaden it with useless information I think to just state the facts.

There were around six temping agencies visited in the City all up and I was saving the temping agency with ‘Elena’ in it last. There were three temping agencies where I basically just handed in my resume and the other three where I actually done some talk time with the people helping out. The first actual temping agency that helped me out was up in a tall building. Filling out a sheet I had to also do a grammar and spelling test and once that was done I walked into a ladies office that found I could do 80 WPM interesting.

A Typing Test Triumph

Reading through my Resume she found me interesting, especially with my broad range of hobbies and interests. Because she was being nice and hearing me as well as being enthusiastic to hear me I thought to tell her of my background in typing at home. Also, I noted how I am devising Shakespearean Poetry and how I will be hoping to get it published soon enough, she was happy for me. The CD I designed was also included in our chats and I was just bummed how I didn’t have it with me to show her exactly what I meant.

Being very pleased with me she got me to do a typing test which we printed out and I achieved 73 WPM with 96% accuracy. The only real problem word was ‘The’ where it was always jumbled around. Knowing I could have typed better but had shown my impressive speed I was happy with myself and after a couple more minutes of chat and her informing me what jobs were available I walked out of there shaking her hand and onto the next temping agency.

A Stranger at Martin Place

Stopping for a break in the hot weather I started to sweat so I decided to buy myself a drink. Walking to the shops at Martin Place I bought myself a large drink and then sitting down outside on the wall where the entrance to the shops were I began to sip my drink. Slowly I regained composure and body stability and my sweat began to dry I noticed a girl with glasses and blonde hair walk up to me.

She wasn’t all that great looking and fairly tall but as she walked up to me she said something like “I know you, didn’t you used to work at Narellan a while ago”. She didn’t know exactly how she knew of me but as she kept informing me about Narellan and how she was with a bunch of friends I worked out she was with those bunch of girls that one day I was having lunch and some girls stopped me.

One of them was pretty and they were with two guys, one who worked in the Pizza shop at the time. Anyway, they were asking me if I knew Imad and Ali and then they went on to tell me that at the runs the both of them called the girls bitches. This is the incident the girl was talking about it and once I thought of it I remembered her being there.

We chatted for a couple of minutes with each other, where she worked, what I was doing and then she was back off to work and what she was doing. She didn’t scorn me in any way and nor did I, we were just being friendly. The girls name by the way was Symba in case I go back in my Diary to find that one out, let’s see how much I wrote about her if ever in the past.

Cologne and a Black Outfit

The reason I had a drink was so I could visit the temping agency with Elena in it and I didn’t want to look all sweaty in an interview. For my last visit to a temping agency I also headed out to David Jones to splash on some cologne but for the sake of the attendant being around I splashed it on the paper provided and hoped that it would sink onto me.

While down this way and in the shopping section of Pit Street (Opposite Center Point Tower) I visited that large shopping complex and walked around downstairs where I had once been before looking for clothes. Once again I came across a shop down there that was suave and looking into the window at the mannequin I fell in love with a black outfit there. It consisted of designer label black cargo pants with two pockets on the sides of the legs and a button up shirt with a collar that clung magnificently to the specimens body.

It looked like the shirt that Ace once wore ages ago when I started to get to know him and I wanted one just like it, I think it was pretty much the same. Knowing that I would check out this shirt later with Lyssa (If by fate I bought it for what events occurred) I headed with my nicely smelling body to the last temping agency, to impress both Elena and the ladies that really mattered.

Meeting Elena at Last

With my top button on my shirt undone to get myself a breather from all the heat I thought this would also even up my chances and make me look more composed. Walking in I chatted with the Receptionist but knew that she wouldn’t be Elena. My hunch was correct as I sat down and then out came another girl who wasn’t ugly at all and not unattractive but not my sort of attractive.

She was Elena and as I informed her who I was and what I was there for she remarked “Oh, you’re Tony” and I gathered she knew that because I informed her of my typing speed and she put two and two together. Now with a girlish charm newly found within her she smiled at me and went into another door to go fetch one of the people working there. The other lady came out smiling and looking at the pages of my resume I also showed her my newest typing speed test as she was very impressed and got herself a copy of that.

They were genuinely impressed with me and as I told them what I would like in a job they took that into note and then told me that they would do their best for me. Thus, I left in a good manner as I thanked them for their time and catching an elevator I was on my way down.
