Ants Meet Hot Water
My bathroom at the moment looks like a cross between an ant farm gone wrong and an Amazon disaster. Apart from the cockroaches that loom in there on occasion ant season is back. They were snooping around the bowl when I decided to have a shower and being the sadistic person I am, I started flicking hot water onto their works. Scurrying away I also flushed them out with the steam that was arising from the hot water in my shower. They did flee but they will come back in numbers to wreak havoc in my toiletries.
A Gridiron Night Planned
Right now I only have half an hour to chat because Shawn and Tatton were just over seeing what we were doing for the night. As we were playing cards on the floor I thought that it would be good to hire a Gridiron game for the Nintendo and have a night of it before I have to give it to Lyssa tomorrow, willingly I might add.
They have just left for Blockbuster to get the game and Tatton is getting his control sticks from his house as well as the rumble pack. They are also buying a pizza so that should buy me some time to speak of the mad night we had on Friday night.
Cash From Keith's Counter
To start after my entries finish last night Shawn and Tatton came over and having asked them if they could drive me to Keith’s work to get some money out they were alright with that. However, before they came over and midst my entry I called Keith and asked him if he could spot me $100 instead of the $50 he was going to get me for free from his electronics transfer machine at work.
Sounding a little cautious he advised me that $50 was alright, he would do that but as far as the $100 went, he would have to think about that and tell me when I was there. For a little while Shawn, Tatton and myself played the card game called ‘Asshole’ and in that game I received a call from Lyssa around 7:00 p.m. “I’m bored” Lyssa cried and not being able to talk in front of my friends all droopy I told Lyssa that I had people over. Sounding somewhat angry or flustered she said goodbye and then hung up the phone.
The Card That Would Not Work
The time arrived to be 7:30 p.m. and as I was supposed to see Keith around that time we jumped up and headed off. There were no stops prior to heading to Keith’s work and once there we parked (Shawn was driving) and then the three of us walked to his work wondering if he would dog me. Walking in he instantly told me “Come on, let’s get it done, fifty dollars”. Giving him my card he tried to do his deed behind the counter but he then advised me that the card didn’t work, that was the first time.
Trying it once again and then a third time all of those tries didn’t work and the three of us were starting to doubt whether he was doing it properly or not. Making our way to Macdonald’s as he was having a busy day the three of us sat in there as Shawn commented how he thought Keith was being a dog and he was hitting the cancel button on purpose. That conversation then stemmed onto the fact that we’ve finally found a rort that will work but Keith won’t share the wealth with everyone, he wants something in it for himself.
Advising Shawn and Tatton that it would be best if I headed back by myself I did so and confronted Keith once more with my card. This time however the $50 worked and with a customer there he handed my money, my receipt, my card and that was it. Looking at the receipt I noticed that the money order was cancelled but it still went through and considering I didn’t have to type in my pin number and I only had to select my account (That had no money in it by the way) I got my money out, squeaky clean.
If they wanted to trace the money they couldn’t and the only defense they would have is the cameras. Asking Keith if he would try for another $50 he paused for a second and then said “If I do this you’re going to have to owe me big time, no I mean big”. Then Keith went on to say “Next time you steal something from a house I want something from it for free” and considering I’m not going to do any theft in the immediate future of my life, I agreed with that.
Everyone Has Something Going
Now with $100 in my pocket I was as happy as could be and despite half of that going to Shawn for the Nintendo I had enough money to get by for the week. I’ll recite what I was saying to Shawn beforehand in Macdonald’s and that was “Isn’t it good when everyone you know in a group has some sort of rort going. Jett has the CD burning, Ace has the selling of all kinds of clothes and accessories, Keith has the money conundrum and you have the stolen goods with a Nintendo”.
Keeping Tatton in the Dark
Heading back to Macdonald’s across the street we started walking back to Keith’s work and because Tatton didn’t know anything about the robbery and we didn’t want him to know we were hiding the truth. Instead, when Tatton asked where the Nintendo was coming from Shawn noted that it was from his cousin, simple enough. However, Shawn and I wanted to head to Jett’s house and we didn’t want Tatton to come with us so Shawn asked Tatton if he could borrow the car so we could go get the Nintendo, he was alright with that.
On the way to Jett’s house I gave Shawn my freely made $50 and considering I wasn’t out of pocket the gift I was giving to Lyssa was no big deal to me. On the way there Shawn and I made a pact that we would inform Jett that Shawn agreed to give me the Nintendo for free.
As much as I didn’t like this idea of betraying Jett it was how Shawn would get his share of the money freely and considering Jett didn’t want much money, it wasn’t that much of a betrayal. Jett only wanted $200 from the money they were making so he could buy a new phone. They are making over a grand.
