Checking The Balance

Work really makes me feel on top of the world and good about myself. It’s not just a ho-hum job where I wish the day to end but I enjoy myself and the people around me in the tasks done passionately every working day. What’s more, I love my job but the liberation when spending my pay is just as fulfilling. This morning astounded me on just how much money there was to spend as I woke up at 5:50 a.m. ringing the bank as the first thing on my mind.

I checked the balance on my savings account clicking all the appropriate buttons in hopes of finding a certain amount of money already in there from my work but instead, hearing the automatic assistant say “You have one dollar and forty one cents.” However, minutes later, trying again, I was literally blown out of my mind when hearing an amount surpassing expectations. The amount I had calculated with tax was to be around $890 but I found there to be $970 in the bank. The news definitely woke me up and placed a spring in the rest of my morning elated from such good news.

The Great Budget

The first course of action that I planned after finding out that I had so much money in my account was to figure out exactly what I was going to do with it through the day. Let me just note that one week before I started working I headed to the City in search of clothes to buy for these forthcoming months, (the newest and most stylish fashions) as well as looking around for places to eat and other places of interest.

Within that last week before work I also planned with the knowledge of what money I would achieve each fortnight, a scheduled budget and what exactly I could buy with $640 a fortnight. It wouldn’t be worth my while to try and exact it onto these pages but let me just say that it has been my most intricate and artistically designed budget, easy to understand and much detail.

In this budget I had every piece of clothing, each expenditure and each cent paid out down to the last minute detail. It seems that my baited breath has waited for this payday to arrived for much longer than it has really been because I knew exactly what I would buy and just headed out there in a calmed frenzy bowling over everyone in my way to get what I desired.

Saver Spender Planner

The way I see it in philosophical terms and as probably noted before, there are three types of spenders in these modern day dramas. There is the ‘Saver’ who is a person when receiving their paycheck that saves most of their money so that they can buy the more luxurious and generous items which usually cost more, like cars and furniture. Then there is the ‘Spender’ who is more dominant in the task of just blowing his or her money without a sense of the word, savings.

The third type of person is one in which the category fits me best, the ‘Planner’. In simplistic terms, the ‘Planner’ is the sort of person who will know exactly what to do with their money even before it has arrived in their hands. They are the people who write out budgets, who buy in short term and not necessarily in long term and unlike ‘Spenders’, they know exactly where each penny of their money goes.

I am that ‘Planner’ to a tee because I have been planning how exactly I am going to buy all these items, how much money it is going to cost, how much money I should take out and all the tidbits that makes me a tax assessor and a bunch of dockets all in one. I’m such the ‘Planner’ that when I arrived home I put down all my ponderous bags full of shopping items, took out my wallet, my dockets and then tried to recount where all my money had gone.

I do that everyday now when I get back home from work. I account for what I have spent, where my money has gone and how much I should have left in contrast to what I have. I find this system works well and what works best is now I can plan my expenditure in relation to the future morsels spent.

Moving Money To The Card

In the morning, when I had turned on my computer and planned exactly how I was going to spend my money, I quickly wrote down the ingredients of the day so that when lunch time came I could quickly work out a route and plan to get all my gear and back to work in time.

I was considering either shopping after work or at lunch and my decision in the end was both. After writing down the important information, I estimated how much I should transfer into my credit card account from savings. Using the phone banking I transferred $106 straight into my credit card account so now if I ever encounter a problem with money for the train I know I will always have some backup money.

When all this was done I was a bit pressed on time to eat, have a shower and prepare myself for work but as usual I had a bit of time to spare so I slowed it down and relaxed a while. When it was time to head to the bus stop I chucked on my shoes, put on my suit top and walked out into a fair breeze of dense fog, the first foggy morning I have seen this winter.

Fog And Bus Rides

Luckily it was fairly visible despite the mist as I made my way to a bus that was running a few minutes late. For some reason, which could probably be explained by science, even though it was foggy and you would be under the impression that it would be freezing, it was a little warmer than usual. Maybe the fog was carrying around a bit of heat instead of cooling the air as I felt like I could take off my jacket and not feel too cold.

Last night when I was heading home on the bus I forgot to add that there were two people who worked at HIH sitting behind me. When they walked past me to sit behind I got a funny look from them and now I figure it was because they recognized me from work. When they started talking about HIH behind me I figured they were probably doing it to make me take notice but I thought it would be weird to just turn around and announce myself like a crazed lunatic.

Instead, I just let them talk away as they jumped off in Bradbury a couple of stops before me. They were on the bus again today when I jumped on and I lost them as we arrived on the platform at Campbelltown but that didn’t bother me. Jumping on my train I sat on the window side and had the lady and guy from HIH sit on my same carriage in the train but on the opposite side.

Lady On The Morning Train

For part of the trip to the City on the train I tried getting myself some sleep but I was way too uncomfortable. However, I gained some satisfaction from espying a lady around my age with beautiful blonde locks, a great affectionate look and that “hard chewing gum” but soft-attitude endearing face. All I could see of her was her face and hands as she was reading a book on the morning train but that was all I needed to fall in love with such a gentle creature.

I was struck a blow to the heart however when she slipped my entrusted eyes amongst a horde of people jumping off at Redfern. She was one of them. I felt a loss having not seen her final departing embraced beauty to look upon, so glumly, it had me doted for the rest of the day.

Photos And Mailroom Hellos

Jumping off at Wynyard I walked my way pacing towards the photo development shop. Handing them my already prepared 36 shots to be developed, I took my little docket and then headed on my way to work. Who knew my day could already be so chirpy and I could have so much to look forward to at lunch, losing all count of time because I was having such a good time at work. Grabbing the mail from downstairs I had the chance to speak again to the lady that works down in the mail room.

It was only “hello” and a “this is my mail” again but I figure she has a small tendency to be nicer to me, as I do for her since she helped me out with some pigeon-hole mail. With a smile of gratitude on my face and adherence on hers, we parted like that for me to head upstairs. By the way, when I was out on my lunch break shopping around I bumped into, having some bags in my hand after visiting a couple of shops. I will spare you the details of our little encounter right now but I’ll just note that her name was Aleka, fitting for a Greek.
